RE: WE80 post topics: Your childhood memories

This is genius.

I like option 4 and 5.
I usually look back at childhood as an order of events and stories. I remember falling down the stairs at my grandmother's apartment. I remember holding her hand and walking to the zoo. I remember going to the movie theater. I remember fire works. I remember sitting in the car for hours. I remember watching adults get drunk and talk on forever.

I remember escaping to play with other kids. I remember fighting and running off to some place. But I usually don't think about those times I was alone as a child. The worlds I had created were immense and avenues out of a painful reality. I keep most of those memories hidden all those things away. Perhaps it won't do much harm to open a few doors again and get a glimpse of how little Mineopoly had perceived his own little world. It may be good for a little therapy on my part.

Thanks !BEER

I reckon little Moneopoly would have been a rascally little bugger, but a bit of a thinker also. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I'm gonna have think on this one. The art of writing is to narrow something down to one clear moment. After so much leading up and description leading the reader to just the right feeling then I give it a twist.

Do enjoy your weekend. I'm taking this task as a homework assignment. Thanks for posting it.

Feel no obligation although you always write well and with interest so I'd love to see a post.

Have a great weekend!

Oh, secret Santa was today...I'll do a post over the weekend. Lol.

Thank you. It's fun... but time to get some rest !LOL

Why does Davy Jones never bend his knees?
Cause they're always Kraken

@galenkp, I sent you an $LOLZ on behalf of @mineopoly
Use the !LOL or !LOLZ command to share a joke and an $LOLZ. (1/6)

It seems we had very similar chain of thoughts upon reading the options for this weeks topic. Yes, there are times borne out of, (as you say) "painful reality" that we do not visit often. Sometimes they pop up in a daydream out of nowhere and transport us back and it could almost feel like it happened to someone else.

Over the last 20 years or so, since I begun to get older, lose people who were important to me and my daughters grew into adults, I learned that yes, opening doors can be cathartic, but I highly recommend only opening one at a time, I learned that one from bad experience lol.

So many of the kind of light-hearted memories you mentioned, seemingly insignificant are actually the most important moments of our past:

I remember holding her hand and walking to the zoo.

Priceless!

Oh and yes by the way... Just children and dogs! 😏

... and sometimes me!
