Putting our kids before anything else...

There's nothing more important to a parent than the happiness of their children, that's why many times, we find ourselves doing things we didn't want to do, things that in other times were common for us to avoid somehow.
A perfect example of what I'm saying was this Saturday, my kids were invited to a birthday party, my father in law's niece's daughter, so, extended family, of those we've seen once in a gathering before, and to be completely honest, I had NO desire to attend whatsoever, everything was against. Hubby's away for business (Again!), the weather was dreadful, skies were gray and the wind was blowing hard, I needed to go out to buy some stuff, make lunch, the house was a mess, and another bunch of other lame excuses I kept repeating myself to not go, but all of a sudden something happened.
I remember not telling my eldest about the party because I wasn't convinced about going and I didn't want her to feel disappointed, but, I did buy a birthday gift for the birthday girl, and it was away in her closet, so, I was searching for her clothes when the phone rang, it was my father in law to ask me at what time we'd be ready to go to the party, I was about to tell him we'd better stay at home when I saw my girl eyeing the present...PANIC!... She turns and asks:
Mommy, is it for me? or we are going to a party??
Can you imagine yourself saying NO to this face??????? Me neither!
So, I told my father in law we'd be ready by 3:30, as soon as I hang up the phone my girl was already by my side, waiting wide-eyed for the answer to her question, so I kneeled and looking at that beautiful little face said: Yes baby, we are going to a party, and we need to start getting ready NOW!
To those of you reading this who are parents know that the concept of getting ready fast is almost impossible to understand for a toddler and a little girl, and how as parents, all the craziness goes to us, my eldest gets the idea of having to go out soon, but misses the part of the preparation, in her head, she was all done, but she was dripping water from her bath and rolled in a towel, the baby, was oblivious to the whole thing, watching TV in her crib (God bless her).
Getting them dressed and styled is always fun, not at the exact moment, but how they end up looking all beautiful, makes it worth it. I some new clothes for them to wear for a special occasion, and well, this one was.
Getting myself dress was, not so happy or easy, but I pushed myself into some decent clothes, even though what I really wanted was to stay in pajamas all day.
The drive to the location was OK, long but we were comfortable, the real weekend magic happened when we got there
Three words: Trampoline, slide and Frozen... The second those girls saw the decoration and the attractions they had settled up, I knew all the discomfort, all the bad feelings of having to leave the house when I didn't want to dissipate. Seeing them so happy made it all worth it, and then I said to myself that it was all that mattered, how they'd feel, how happy they were
I knew the theme of the party was going to be Frozen, cause the invitation had Anna but I was not prepared for this:

Gotta admit, when I left the house, the least expected thing was for me to have such a nice time at the party, truth be told I think I enjoyed the frozen show more than the girls did, mostly cause the Frozen movie and soundtrack are very special to me and my best friend, and having him away has been tough on us, but our friendship stays strong. When Elsa started to sing let it go, my eyes watered a bit, I video called him, and we both cried a bit, happy tears of many memories around that song. By the time the show ended, as all the kids were taking pictures with the cast, all I was able to do was thank God I made the right choice! And it leaves me a beautiful insight: I left aside my "needs" to have my kids have a great time, which they did, and, I did too, just by seeing them doing so!
And! I got my #SublimeSunday home with my kids, we ordered burgers from a fantastic place and watched SpongeBob all afternoon, in our pajamas!

What a brilliant party and now I am wondering who had more fun, you or your daughter🤣

I'd say the party was organically enjoyed, my first one enjoyed the games, my second one enjoyed the food and I enjoyed the show, win win if you ask me! LOL

hehe it does soung like a win win win !
