Hello world and fellow music lovers,

Today we are going to do a different kind of post and if you are following my posts you know that the content I upload involves mostly crypto-games. But whenever I see a topic I really like and I want to engage I will do my part to promote the cause! So my first encounter with music begins when I was a little boy; at the beginning of my life, I tried to learn to play piano and drums! But the dream was ended shortly because I didn't have the talent and most importantly the required patience. My interest in music didn't end there thankfully but I continued on my journey to different kinds of music! In summary, I have gone through many phases in music, for example, I was into Rap, Rock, Punk, Classical music, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, etc! You can understand that I don't listen to a particular kind of music, but the music I would listen to through the day depends on my vibes at this moment! So I am that guy who could listen to Sex Pistols and an hour later I switched to Eric Satie!

Music that moves you or makes you feel deeply

That's a very interesting topic, even if I wanted to write for hours about the emotions that different kinds of music give me, I don't think that I could describe it clearly! My personal opinion is that each track has its own dynamic and that depends on your personal preferences and how well-composed a song is, but unlike other things in life, the more you listen to a song the stronger the bond becomes between you and a specific track! The bottom line is, the most important reason why a song makes you feel special is because it has accompanied you to various stages of your life! For example, one song that I really love and that makes me feel emotional is "Long Way Home" from Tom Waits. To be honest, I tend to listen to Blues tracks when I am feeling blue, and Tom Waits is one of my favorite artists that can express what I feel when the midnight crisis hit!

The first Concert of my life

Now that's a subject that hurts when I think about it nowadays, the reason is obvious and we all know it and hate it, Covid-19! My hatred for this disease that the last couple of years has ruined the quality of our lives has become even stronger with the fact that one of my favorite activities has been completely banned! Of course, I am talking about the live concerts! The last time I went to a concert was 3 years ago and that really hurt! But enough with that, I want to share with you the first concert I went to in my life and it was Manu Chao & La Ventura in the Port of Thessaloniki! It was the biggest live event that I have ever attended, to be honest, with 40000 people and one truly unique experience!

I present you the Legendary ticket from this evening, it was 8 years ago on 23 June of 2014. The memories when I see that photo hit really hard and the fact that was my first concert made that very special!

The memories from the concert

Because it was my first concert for this size I was feeling impatient a week before the concert, at this time I was 16 years old and it was our daily topic of discussion with my friends because we also needed to do a mini-tour to even get there! So after we solve that problem and we arrived at Thessaloniki we went for a warm-up round at the local bars near the port! I remembered that we went 2 hours before the event even starts and we manage to go in after 45 minutes. One of the things that I remember clearly after all these years is that the performance of the Manu Chao was incredible and chaos ensued when he played Cladestino and La Vida Tombola! I want to add that this day had so much heat that it was unbearable to even exist without water, of course, we have forgotten to bring one, and then we found the coldest beer in the whole event! This was the moment I really loved Beer! Also, another greek band was playing that day and did the opening in Manu Chao, their name was Active Member!

Also a fun fact I discovered the list of the tracks that Manu Chao played this evening

  • Unfortunately I don't have any photos or videos from this night myself, many years have passed and most of them are in broken phones. I will drop a link from the channel AeroMedia that has done a great job with some awesome footage! All the rights and the copyrights from the video are owned by them!

Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you like the post! It's true that I am not into only one genre, I think music has no boundaries and we should enjoy it from all aspects!

Mr Bobby, Manu Chao are great and that was an awesome first concert you attended. I love how varied your tastes in music, just like mine and the best way to be I think!

It was truly a unique experience and I really enjoy that night! I think that too, music is the tool to express our feelings so we would be pretty boring persons if we listened to only one genre! :)

Totally agree, one genre equals boring people 🤣
