Saturday Shopping At Shoprite

Ever gone to the supermarket or mall for some items and you end up buying other things because all the goods on display are just too attractive and you can't help yourself? Hahaha! That was my interesting ordeal earlier this morning. Gosh! I wonder why this always happens to me. Hahaha!

I work Mondays to Fridays, 8 am to 6 pm, and some Saturdays. I do not have time to go shopping or visit family and friends except on some weekends and Sundays. Luckily today is free for me and I decided to schedule my time properly to make the best of today so I can lounge at home the whole of tomorrow.

I had woken up by 5 am, checked my Hive account and commented on some posts. I did some chores and prepared a breakfast of tea for some family members, coffee for me and my sister and scrambled eggs. I did not remember to take pictures.

My siblings and I dressed up and we set out for Ikeja City Mall where Shoprite supermarket is situated. We drove for like twenty minutes, less traffic on the road thankfully and arrived at the Mall right on time.

Shoprite opens at 9 am and within two hours of window shopping and traipsing around the shops, we were done!

I planned to shop for honey especially, and some provisions that my family and I need at home.

I did not find the brand we take at home so I settled for Moringa Mc'Bee honey. Hopefully, we will like the taste

We went round all the aisles, feasted our eyes on some goods, edible and non-edible, and bought the things we needed. We also ended up buying some snacks that we call small chops in pidgin English. See what I mean? Buying things that I did not need.

These marketers have a way of tricking people to spend and spend and spend. Extravagance is a luxury I cannot afford but I am being careful. How do you handle overspending when you go shopping? I'd like to know.

I had a lovely time with my siblings. We parted ways and I boarded a tricycle to visit a friend of mine close to the Mall. I took this picture from inside my tricycle.

I am here with her now, relaxed, munching on some snacks I bought at the Mall.

I decided to write this post about how my weekend is going while my friend is busy preparing breakfast or more likely brunch! She's not a morning person on weekends.

I hope you are having a relaxing weekend!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

All pictures in this post are mine, taken with my Huawei Y9 phone, unless otherwise stated.

Sort:

I make a list of things I need and usually stick to it! :) In my head, I make the meals and check what I might need, then shop for those ingredients. I have to, otherwise, I buy too many things that I don't really need!

How did the honey work out? Was it good? I have Shoprite here too. :)) For people that don't know you, I always say to tell us where you are so the prices and items can be sort of compared! And by the way, you are a good person to take your siblings with you and shop together, :) How fun!

I appreciate how much effort you put into making #MarketFriday a success! It is interesting to see the different cultures in our little world. It opens up my world, and, I hope yours too. Thank you so much for being a part of all this. I hope you have a most wonderful day! Hive on!!

Upped and reposted

Hello ma'am! Thanks for taking the time to visit my post. I always write a shopping list too before I leave the house but sometimes I can't help myself and end up buying things not listed! 😄

Yes, I had a wonderful time shopping with my siblings.

... I always say to tell us where you are so the prices and items can be sort of compared!

I'll note this for my next #marketfriday post.

I appreciate your kind comment and support. Thank you! 🙂

It's always a pleasure! Your post are fun to read!!

Hehehe, you end you buying more than you should with the way some marketers do it... they are so smart, for sure!
Are you ready for brunch, @kemmyb?

Have a nice day, and Hugs and Kisses 🥰🌺🤙!

Hehehe, I tell you. Marketers are smart and innovative! Anyway, that's why they sell products, so people can buy.

I did enjoy the brunch! 😄 Thanks so much for stopping by and writing a lovely comment. Happy Sunday! 😊

Happy Sunday to you too, @kemmyb

Haha, you are a foodie so I understand going above what you set out to buy. I agree with setting a budget but it takes some serious discipline to stick to it!

Better to pay more attention to needs and postpone wants to when they become needs.

Thanks dear Cherry for your kind comment. 🙂
