They say "there's no place like home",you won't really know how true the sentence is until you have been away from home for awhile. It's been six months since I left home for school, due to the distance and price of transportation from my home to school and back I don't ever consider going back and forth unless in extreme situations.
I can't explain how happy I was when I was finally travelling back home yesterday. I was super excited I've been planning the journey since the beginning of the week, infact I washed and arranged my stuffs as early as Monday for a journey I was to make on Saturday 😂😂 That was how fast I wanted to go.I refused to wait until Saturday to book my bus ticket because I didn't want to take any chances, so as early as Friday afternoon I quickly rushed to the park, made some redrawal since they only accepted cash. Mind you I was travelling from Nsukka Enugu to Lagos. transportation fee from Nsukka to Lagos was #10,500, so I got the money and paid in full.
I didn't forget to reserve a very comfortable seat by the window for myself because I love window seats. I love to be able to see what's happening outside and also enjoy the cool breeze from outside. I was told to come as early as 5:30am because my bus would be leaving by 6am. Having sorted that out I got one or two things from the market nearby then returned to my lodge I was super excited and just couldn't keep calm so I went out with some of my friends just to kill time. we had some pepper chicken and drinks talked and laughed then I returned and quickly fell asleep not before setting my alarm to wake me up by 5am.
woke up as early as 4:45am got ready and headed for the park. By 5:48am I was already at the park waiting for the bus to load so we can leave but lo and behold it never happened until 9am.
I was deceived, the bus never was leaving by 6am they lied to me and made me sit aimlessly in the park for good three hours plus. I felt really bad and annoyed but there was nothing I could do about it. We finally hit the road and I just quietly plugged my ear piece, closed my eyes and listened to music while praying there won't be much traffic on the road and I could quickly reach Lagos. I later stopped the music, watched a movie, prayed, ate, watched my surroundings. I kept on like that till I finally arrived. Thank God it was a smooth ride for a journey of 10 hours or more.I arrived late at night around 10pm but I was very happy. I dropped out of the bus, got my load and took a tricycle home. It was a surprise visit, no one knew I was coming so when they later saw me the were all surprised and happy. It was a really great feeling reuniting with them once again I really missed everyone and I did really miss home. So here I am at home comfortably lying down in the parlour typing this, my siblings playing in the background, my mum updating me on the latest gists I have missed out on so far. Once again it feels so good to be home.
