Hi everyone! Have you listened to music today? For me, listening to music has become a routine when starting and ending the day. If you have watched the Thai film Suckseed, there is a scene when Ped is listening to music, then the musician who plays the song that Ped listens to seems to be singing beside him. Just like a video clip. Yes, listening to music for me is exactly like the scene in the movie. When I'm sad, I listen to music. When I'm happy, I listen to music. When I'm empty, I also listen to music. So, music is a friend who understands my feelings.
My love of music makes me want to be able to play an instrument. Singing while playing an instrument is my way of healing myself from the feelings that make me uncomfortable. However, since I quit college, many things have prevented me from pursuing my hobby of playing music. At first, because I was having financial difficulties, I spent a lot of time working to earn money. Even then I had to sell my only guitar.
About two years ago, my mother bought me a piano keyboard as a gift for my birthday. I'm so happy, finally after a long time, I can sing while playing a musical instrument again. But it turns out playing the keyboard is not easy. It took me a month to learn to be able to play a song, and even then, I only played the harmony chords. To this day, I'm still learning to play the keyboard and trying to adjust my feelings with it. Maybe because the intensity of my playing the guitar is longer than playing the keyboard, so I feel that the guitar is a musical instrument that I am more comfortable playing. Then, because the keyboard is an electric instrument, I often have a hard time trying to start playing it. For example, I have to prepare a terminal plug for an adapter. When I play acoustic guitar, I can play it anywhere.
Apart from these two instruments, I can play the cajoon--a square musical instrument that makes a sound similar to a drum. I only play this tool when my community asks for help with cajoon beats on certain occasions.
My time--until today--is still occupied a lot by activities outside of my hobby of playing music. Maybe in a month I only play the keyboard two to three times. This makes my fingers less effective at pressing the black and white keys on the instrument. So, for the time being I listened to music through earphones more as a self-healing agent, rather than playing a musical instrument. But going forward, I'm determined to spend more time learning to play the keyboard, at least until I can play an ABBA - Mamma Mia.
Thanks for reading.
Have a nice day.
Best regards, Kaifin.
