How fast the golden glow season disappears, fresh snow will also be fun to see in the beginning again. I know by the end of season you get tired of all the white out!

Oh yes, now I am waiting for the frosty mornings which will look awesome when it's foggy too, but you are not completely right, because I will not get tired of the white, but of the muddy gray that will be everywhere at the end of the Winter ๐

Can imagine the fresh snow is gorgeous, sludge that follows not so much especially hiking uphill ๐, can just sit sliding down again.

I haven't been skiing in years and sliding down on my back is nothing I should do in my age ๐คฃ
But yes, fresh fallen snow is one of the most beautiful things, as long as there are no footsteps destroying the view and as long as you don't need to shovel it away in order to go to work ๐

Never skied in my life, hiking up often reverted to riding tufts of grass down, would not go up nor down of late.
Well angled footprints might make impressive photography, showing a person disappearing out yonder, shoveling your way out of the garden cannot be much fun.

Skiing makes so much fun but it has become very expensive in the past years. Skiing with the whole family is just not affordable anymore and so I was glad that my kids didn't like it at all, to be honest.
As kids we have taken shingles from the roofs of abandoned alpine huts to slide down the grassy hills up there, wouldn't do this anymore in my age ๐
It depends on the snow - some is light as a feather but sometimes the snow is wet, full of water and very heavy.
Footprints in the snow - that's my wife pulling the sledge with one of the kids on it :)

Many sports have become too expensive, thank goodness neither of my sons took to surfing and water sports, both enjoy hiking or walking the beach although both are good swimmers.
Looks like your wife had quite a journey pulling sled through the snow with little one in tow, as you say thank goodness they grown up now you no longer need to worry!
Grassy hills and cardboard boxes was the enjoyment here, no huts to pull apart it may be someones home ๐...
Never thought of light snow or wet snow, to me it is white stuff falling from a cloud above, not that we see it often!
