Every time I head to Panagsama, Moalboal, it has always been @ybanezkim26 as my constant buddy. Even though we regularly invite some of our friends to join us on our Freediving excursion, no one seemed to be that determined enough to explore the depths of the underwater world with us nor enjoy the simplicity of living the "beach life" if only for just a few days.
However, more than a month ago just when we made a general announcement to some of our friends, @chillwithshanna reached out to me and informed me that she would be coming with us. I doubted at first but I rested my case when she sent me the payment for our resort booking. I was impressed by how committed she was to joining our "monthly" adventures in Panagsama.
So two weekends ago, me and @ybanezim26 got on the bus and made our way to Moalboal. @chillwithshanna was to arrive on the 3rd night. This getaway was yet the busiest and most productive "vacation" we have ever done and yet we still had a great time! Read on...
November 26, 2021 - Day 1
I thought that we were supposed to surprise @discoveringarni when I booked a night at Garden Village Resort however @ybanezkim26 already told her beforehand so there was no surprise factor but I'm glad he did that. Instead, @discoveringarni surprised us with her home-cooked delicious meals! We also went for a swim at the pool. As far as I can remember, it was endless conversations about random things while juggling some curation works that's why we never get to have photos during our stay with them because we just enjoy each other's company.
That night, @ybanezkim26 treated us to a sumptuous dinner at Maayong Hostel. Although I suggested (insisted 😄) we go there because my Bachata dance partner informed me there was "socials night" that day. We were to meet up and baile!
Besides the great food (I recommend the chili con meal although it wasn't my first choice 😂 ), the place has quite a nice ambiance to chill and relax.
Safe to say, we had a fantastic first day of our 5-day adventure in Moalboal.
November 27, 2021 - Day 2
Freediving requires the body to be relaxed that's why I incorporate yoga before any freediving activity. With my yoga mat, I went to the pool area and found a cozy spot where I decided to do my practice. It was a serene and blissful morning and I was joined by "Tammy" who I'm pretty sure just wanted scratches and cuddles. After an hour and 30 minutes, I and Kim went for a hearty breakfast at the Garden Village Restaurant where later on we were also joined with Arni.
After a few more hours of curation work, we checked out from our booked room, decided to spend the rest of the day still at @discoveringarni's place. Around noontime, I and @ybanezkim26 went to meet up with @luckylaica for a "Filipino style lunch buffet". Her family did a small celebration for her in-laws and we were there to witness such a simple yet happy event. There was lechon baboy, ofcourse! We also got to spend some time in the open rice fields where I got to take a 3- minute power nap while @ybanezkim26 and @luckylaica endlessly talked about random stuff.
We went back to Garden Village Resort where this time we were all a bit busy on our laptops. @ybanezkim26 attending HivePH webinar, @discoveringarni finishing her blog, and I attending my last online Masterclass. It was a productive day indeed! Our night was spent with some wine just before hitting the road to have another fully loaded dinner at JG's Grill. The food was definitely tasty but it was the Karaoke that won my heart! We then bid our goodbyes and checked in at our next location.
November 28, 2021 - Day 3
We woke up to the sound of the beach and a promising sunny 3rd day of fun. We were booked in Pescador View for the next 3 days. @chillwithshanna was to arrive later that afternoon. Our schedule was to freedive that morning. We had it initially planned at 7:00 am however our trusted dive guide @sabanalchristian has included us in a tour group bound for Pescador Island scheduled at a later time. Yes, we were damn excited!

The rest of the afternoon was spent for rest and work. We waited till @chillwithshanna arrived and we head out to Secret Paradise to have dinner. I and Shanna went in for a swim at their enticing pool. We were looking forward to the next day's activities!
November 29, 2021 - Day 4
It was all about the underwater world! Together with @sabanalchristian, we brought @ybanezkim26 and @chillwithshanna to Turtle Bay where we shot some videos along the coral "cracks". It's like a 40-minute walk to get there from the resort we stayed in. I have been here before so it was nice to see @ybanezkim26 exploring a new side of Moalboal and @chillwithshanna trying out Freediving for the first time. Oh! by the way, @ybanezkim26 taught her well. Videos will be coming up soon so I only have photos to share for now.
After our 3-hour freediving activity, we went straight to have our lunch at a nearby local restaurant. Our guide @sabanal surely had 2 plates of rice! After which, we spent another few hours working then we went to Moalboal Dog Rescue for an ocular visit. Do check out our Donation Drive here. We are still accepting donations!
We had a short sunset "pictorial" because why not? And we ended our Day 4 with some pasta and pizza at Tipolo Beach Resort.
November 30, 2021 - Day 5
Our last day at Panagsama, Moalboal was nothing short of fun! Yes, another morning of freediving! @chillwithshanna got to meet the mermaid statue and we also got to have an epic sardine run! Then we quickly packed our bags, checked out from Pescador View Rseort, and went to visit @discoveringarni's place one last time before we head back to the city.
We were greeted with another of @discoveringarni's mouth-watering homecooked meals! I even copied her salad recipe which I am now preparing for myself for the past few days. While I and @discoveringarni had a special VC session, @chillwithshanna spent some time with Arni's lovely daughter, and @ybanezkim26 and @iamyohann did another feature for the @whoaretheyph project! We finally had to bid our goodbyes and hop on the bus late that afternoon. This ends my blog. Perhaps you want to join us on our next freediving adventure soon? Let me know!

That was a full-packed weekend. I wasn't able to tell you this but it was a blessing in disguise Kim mentioned your stay. I would have been in the city that day otherwise. I was able to cook and enjoy the time with you guys 😀

I think we still have a lot of restaurants and places to explore in Moalboal. The archery is still in my bucketlist!
I have never traveled for a vacation or to spend a weekend somewhere fun and interesting as seen in your pictures. Seeing them I can say you had so much fun.
Hey @harnah12! Perhaps is the time to do so? With less people cramming into destination or tourists spots, its the best time to travel!

Beautiful headstand 😍😍 I also heard from a friend that freediving and yoga go hand in hand but I do not have the courage to try free diving 😩

Perhaps one day, you'll find the courage to freedive! Just go for it really or else you might just regret not doing it someday...
