A PERSONALITY THAT CONNECTS

In a world filled with people, it is inevitable for you to be in a position when you will get to interact with someone from time to time, except you want to shit yourself away from everyone and that means that something is not right. Living among people who are like us, is really quite an interesting thing because even with our different faces, one thing that sets us apart is our personalities. As Shawn Ashmore said, ”Style is a reflection of your attitude and your personality.” Your style is only unique because it is a reflection of not just your attitude but your personality.

In this post, I will be sharing with you a little about myself, some things I believe I will make someone new find me worth interacting with and also some things I think might make them feel sad that they met me. So without further ado, let’s get to it.

One thing I always want people to know about me is my name, and this is because my name plays a very huge part in my personality. For most people I have interacted with, they always end up saying, now I know why your name is Hope, hehe. I’m someone who hates seeing people lose hope and as much as I can, it gives me joy to make you become hopeful again. I’m welcoming, a good listener and a lover of anything good.

Even as I have some of these amazing attributes, I also have some characters that I exhibit sometimes that I fear might be an hindrance to me meeting someone new. One of those characters is how I most times transfer my aggression to people even when they weren’t the ones who caused me to be upset. I can imagine meeting someone when I’m upset. They’d likely get the wrong impression about me. Ultimately, it would be my responsibility. I know I have others, but focusing on this one aspect, has helped me become more aware of my behavior.

If I were to meet someone new today, I’m more confident that I’d be able to manage my emotions and make a better impression and this is so because, I have gotten better at how I transfer my aggression from one person to another. Meeting someone new for the first time, I try my best to be at my best behavior, not necessarily pretending to be what I’m not but then, making them feel as comfortable as possible around me.

When I realized how much that attitude of mine affected my style as a person, I became intentional about improving on it and a lot of things has changed since that day. I have so many people I talk with on a daily basis, not all of them are really close but then, it is all because I have learnt how to be more accommodating to people especially those I’m meeting for the first time.

Acknowledging the fact that, just as I might be in a bad mood and tend to pass that aggression to someone else all because I’m not happy, might also be the same way someone else would react too. What if I meet such a person, does that mean we won’t get along? After answering this question, getting better and doing better became a must. Like I said, my name is Hope and if not for anything, meeting someone like that should be an opportunity to spread hope and not make them feel even more bitter about whatever they might be going through.

In conclusion, as I continue to learn and grow, I’m excited to see how my personality evolves and how I can use it to make a positive impact on the lives of those who I get to meet and those who I’ve met. I will surely meet new people from time to time and I don’t want to be caught unfriendly. Life can be unpredictable, and it’s easy to lose sight of who we are. I hope that no matter what challenges come my way, I’ll stay true to myself.

Thanks for reading through and have a pleasant weekend. ❤️
