Do you think self-care is selfish or not?

Based on this question I am going to share with you my opinion about self-care, I think that first you have to understand what it means and the benefits it brings to your life, your health and well-being.

We can say that self-care is any action aimed at taking care of our body, our organism and our mental health, hence this type of actions are necessary for a better performance in our daily activities.

In this sense we can address some areas of self-care to try to put in context and justify our answer.

When we talk about personal care, grooming is an important part of this issue, because depending on how you treat your personal hygiene you can make a positive or negative impact within a group of friends, classmates or at work.

Being well bathed, with clean teeth, fresh breath, a good haircut, clean and perfumed clothes can make a difference, you will make those around you feel good, you will feel good about yourself and this will make you feel confident.

Physical condition: Although this may be an area to which many do not give much importance, exercise not only improves your appearance, but also your physical and mental health, not in vain that expression "Healthy mind in a healthy body", if you look good physically you will surely be better mentally.

That is why physical care is necessary, exercise at home or go to the gym, your body will thank you.

Mental health: will depend on many aspects of self-care, how you look and feel. Now, when we see a depressed person we can notice the neglect in terms of personal care, they don't groom themselves, they don't groom themselves, they lose their appetite and they have a death wish.

Obviously there is a psychological disorder caused many times by carelessness in personal care or vice versa, the carelessness in personal care can be caused by the depressive condition, in my opinion, in both cases there is an affectation to the mental health.

In conclusion, as an answer to the question posed I think that self-care is not selfish at all, in the end if you feel good about yourself you can be more efficient in the care of your family, in the work relationship and in international relations in any area of life.

Self-care is a reflection of your self-esteem.
