It's evident that this weekend contest revolves around me. l am glad to have this opportunity to tell my story.
My story
Coming from a humble and lowly background thing were not easy for my family,dad a peasant farmer and mom a supportive wife in her husband's occupation, didn't find it easy to adequately cared for six children hence there was need to distribute us to some handy relatives, i was sent to my maternal uncle where i spent five years in misery, treated like a third class citizen, fed once daily but occasionally twice,was made to handle chores alone while the children were treated like kings,it was devastating when mom and dad visits, whose presence gave me hope, after telling them my predicament in the house expecting them to take me back because I lived happily in our house despite the hardship, but was always heartbroken when they keep telling me to enduring. Their first son lived extravagantly which led him to be stealing his parents money even to his parents knowledge yet the anger for the stolen money was always vented on me as i was consistently accused of stealing the money, not only the accusation but was battered always.
A day came that i couldn't bear the maltreatment and the accusation anymore, i resorted in jumping fence, on reaching home, my parents were not happy because my uncle will levied more accusation on me, and the jumping of the and the manner at which i left the house would jeopardize their relationship, as such my parents wanted to take me back, therein i questioned my paternity, they had no option than to allow me be, so i stayed with my parents, joined in the farming and was going to school, the above incidents happened before i got to 12 years of age.
May/June 2010 i wrote and passed my college exam, thereafter i focused more on the farming business. 6th August, 2012 i got appointment to work with Nigerian correctional service and i was posted to Abuja, i got the job through the owner of the school i graduated from who stays in Abuja. I stayed in his house with her daughter who was three years older than me, we were very close as she shared her relationship issues with me, in 2014 I was transferred from gwagwalada Abuja where my uncle stays to Kuje, so i had to stay on my own, though my uncle wasn't pleased for me to leave the house considering my assistance at home though he told me to be feeding myself since I had a job, so I was feeding myself in his house. After 3 years of my relocation, I was still coming to visit them.
On May 4th 2017 when I received a call from home, it was my mom, she asked why did I tried defrauding the sum of two hundred naira from the man I stayed with through her daughter, the story was not clear to me, I had to call the girl trying to know what happened, she started by insulting and calling all sorts of names and couldn't say anything to me, so the following day after work i had to travel their house because I had received calls from three different people saying the same thing, something which I do not even know of, on reaching there, I met the man who gave me the job, after pleasantries I told him that I came to hear from her daughter how I tried defrauding her the sum of two hundred thousand naira as speculated, the man sided the daughter by saying I did it, and when I asked the daughter how it happened, she said I called her with a different number demanding the money but that she recognized my voice, the fact that the father sided the daughter ruined our relationship till date. I have forgiven the family but the resentment lives.

hi @henry.ndubuisi that really sucks, sometimes it is easy for people to blame people, and then people take sides. I would have been very annoyed too if I had not taken any money!
A thought of my reputation dragged to the mud pains me more, especially the accusation coming from someone i was very close with. 😓
