"I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I've ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours,"

- Nicholas Sparks -

Happy weekend folks, I hope you've got a good one planned out or your random and spontaneous weekend delivers value.

We're well into the sixth year of the weekend-engagement topic concept and it's really cool to see a few people come back every week and join in. If you'd like to get involved with the #weekend-engagement topics as hosted in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community then read below, and I hope you all have a great weekend.

A reminder, the tag to use is
weekend-engagement
and you'll need to follow the rules I've set out because I'm inflexible with stuff like that.

Also this week there are nice topics.mmmh I dint know what to pick 💯💯

Thank you, I've been doing this for 284 weeks and work towards interesting topics, I'm glad you like them.

Nicholas Sparks, I used to read his books when I had time years ago, they are very well written and emotionally capturing... Have a good weekend!

A good author, no doubt.

What a great phrase and being whole oneself first can give so much more to the other.

Interesting topics all, a lot to think about. I'll be here, I won't miss it.

This weekend I think it will be partly scheduled but partly impromptu, but it will work out well!!! Have a great weekend!

Sounds like a good weekend ahead.

It will be!

Happy weekend, interesting proposed topics, I already chose yeay. Hugs, from the Caribbean 🌹

Happy weekend to you to, for when it arrives. I'm there already.

I actually have pretty mediocre expectations for most people around me, and they still manage to fall short!

I hear ya.

The third one looks more like something i have done a lot of times. But then one thing i miss as a child, is actually getting the things i want without me paying for it.

There's always a price to pay for getting the things we want and not always a financial price.

Greetings Galenkp! That first topic you proposed is super interesting; just reading it made me think. In the past, I had high expectations of everything, but what always disappointed me the most was people. Today, I have different feelings and zero expectations of anyone, but I think I don't do it to protect myself from disappointment. Rather, I think I've learned that everyone is a universe we can never fully understand; sometimes it seems I don't even know myself completely. On the other hand, it does happen that I can be disappointed in myself often, but I try to quickly correct my mistakes because that's something I can control.

Happy to greet you brother. Even though it's been a while since I've posted here, this community and this dynamic are some of my favorites on Hive. I've had many weekends of concerts lately; in fact, we're even having a Beethoven concert soon. The good thing is that I'm accumulating photos and weekend experiences for when I return to Weekend Engagement... I hope everything goes well, as always! 🙏

Cheers, all the best with the concerts and your weekends generally.

What do you miss about being a child and why?

i miss not having to worry about what comes after tomorrow — I don't have to feel pressured to do something. looking back when I was a child, I can really say that it was the best time of my life. The times where I don't have to worry about anything because I was just a child and all I need to do is enjoy and play around. I miss the feeling of going back home after playing the whole day and just sleep after I took a bath because my Mom forced me to. That will always be part of me. My childhood was great and I am thankful that I get to live my life that way. Stepping into the adulthood really does made me feel overwhelmed, I need to step up on my own, I need to decide for myself, I need to do everything by myself — and that's one of the things that I wasn't prepared for. I just miss being a kid, where all I worry about and think during my bed time is how am I going to escape to play outside with my friends without getting caught. haha. when I saw kids playing around and just enjoying outside the house or in the playground, it made me look back to the times where I used to do the same thing. why can't we just be kids forever? I am just so happy that I enjoyed my life to the fullest back then because somehow I have something to look back. I miss being a naughty kid and obedient at the same time. Oh to have a chance to go back to the old times 😩🥹

What do you miss about being a child and why?

When I was a child I still had more alive family members. Now from close family only my mother remains. I miss playing chess/ going to basketball games with my dad.

Monogamy or polygamy?

I find the whole exclusivity thing a bit weird. It doesn't sound bad in theory. But considering how many people get divorced and all the mess that is likely to come with it I almost think that humans would be better of not swearing to be together forever at all. People should still watch out of sexual diseases but other than that perhaps the world would be be better place if people did not try to claim each other. I imagine that open relationship where both people are honest about dating others could be healthier than one or both of them cheating behind the other's back.

Fair enough.

Those are pretty nice topics....... Being a child? I think I miss everything about it. Well, expect the parts I get tricked into believing a whole lot of myths 😅.

Excellent.

I'd make my first entry this weekend i believe and the first topic looks interesting to me, so yeah i'd definitely try and participate

Ok then.

Fuck, there are many Good topics this time, but I can't write about them. Logistics issues for me. I hope next week I could.

No worries.

Wonderful topic today, have a nice weekend all of you as deal with your chosen one

For sure.

Hello Galen!! Here is my entry after many weeks.... Because you gave me a chance to write about my inner self who always misses being a child 😂🤣

I don't have my picture as a child that's why i added my kitten's picture and video....
