Weekend-engagement highlights: Week 161

in Weekend Experienceslast year

Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.

How is your week going to roll out? Have you got a plan or are you taking it day by day, just seeing how it goes? Whether you're approaching it proactively or reactively, you've got no choice but to live it...starting with today.

I wrap up the #weekend-engagement writing concept featured in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community. Topics are released each Friday and content creators have all weekend to post in response to those I set.

The #weekend-engagement concept is designed to help users with writing topics to challenge their thinking and creativity and to promote great quality posting over the weekend. I also urge participants to engage with others as it's a great way to build relationships which is important to ongoing success and enjoyment on the blockchain...and it's more fun too.

This week I'm transferring Ecency points - well done to those people as below - a great effort by you, and by everyone who chose to enter and follow the concept guidelines.

You can post in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community any day of the week but ensure your content is strongly weekend-related. This means your content should be about Saturday and Sunday and be experience-focused using photographs you took yourself.

Thanks Galen, was good fun writing this weekend. Looks like you got some excellent entries!

No worries and yeah there were some good ones. I especially like seeking those from people who have been around for a while as they always show improvement in their writing and presentation. It's satisfying.

Thank you very much for including my post in this list and above all, thank you for inspiring me with your ideas.

You're welcome, it deserves to be in the list.

Thanks so much @galenkp, looks like it wasn't just in Romania it was a weekend of fire, but also here in the community with lots of good entries😉

So many good entries, thanks for taking the time to do yours.

I always participate with great pleasure.

Wonderful 🎊🎊 thank you 🙌 @galenkp this weekends was fun and nice to be able to participate. Always have surprise every Friday 💯🎉🗣️ look forward to the next challenge. Congrats to all the winners 💟🎉🎉🎉🎉

You're welcome, thank you for supporting the concept and I look forward to seeing you around again.

A little late but @galenkp, mate, thank you very much for the recognition and for the gift, it's a pleasure to be here.

Storytime:
I have another article, in another community and I want to boosted it, then I saw more points than I had yesterday, and I thought Ecency had some bug, so I logged out and logged in to see if that was the case. I was surprised, then I came to the report, I always read it because it's a way to find good content, and I saw my name, I was surprised and very happy 😁

The posts this week were very good, they keep getting better, you can see the effect of #weekend-engagement

Mate, have an excellent week!

You're welcome.

Try boosting someone else's post with your Ecency points rather than your own, which seems like self-voting to me. It's a nice way to support the community and I'm sure the person whose post you boost will be very appreciative.

Noted advice ✍🏻, you're absolutely right.

In fact, you gave me an idea for the project that I will soon launch on Hive (hopefully, I'll be talking about it soon 😉).

It's always good to listen to advice, thank you for giving it to me 🙏🏻

I'm glad you took it this way...I understand that it seems more valuable to the individual to self-vote with ecency points for the small reward, but I see more value in supporting others in the community as it builds relationships...For example, yours and mine - not saying you should be boosting my posts, here.

I say this because if I see people self-voting with ecency points I tend not to vote their posts anymore, and certainly won't send them to curangel...so, to gain a small vote, the user loses far more in the end. I also like to see people supporting others and will support them in doing so, with bigger votes and in other ways.

You do good work and I feel you're an under-rewarded content creator, however to build you need to invest and I see the free ecency votes as a way you can do so more effectively. Vote on some great content, (not always your friends), and comment on those posts...I think you'll build momentum quickly.

You don't know how much I appreciate you giving me advice, and especially reading your point of view. I've only been here for two months and want to learn from the best, so I am very grateful for your words. Your way of thinking has made me reflect. You are definitely right about what you say.

Truly, since I started here, I have felt the support from you, Taraz, and Curangel, as one of the ones who mostly curate my content, and I greatly appreciate it. While I'm not on Hive for the money, I won't deny that in the country where I live and the economic disaster we have, Hive is a great help. I wish I could make a big investment and increase my HP, but it's not my reality. I know that the economic rewards will come with hard work and good content. I try not to pay too much attention to the fact that I receive little support from the big whales, because the few upvotes I get, most of them are through my daily work in the ecosystem, and because I know that they value my content. From there, I have met two brothers, one in Australia and the other in Finland, who have taught me many things about Hive. I belong to a community from a not very well-known island, and yet I became a witness in less than two years. I have met wonderful people who are teaching me many things, and above all, I am learning about many things that I never thought I would know. I have grown as a person and I am grateful for that.

I don't want to go on too long and bore you, so I am greatly thankful to you, mate.

I'm still learning too...when I stop learning it'll mean I'm dead.

I understand about the financial situation there and that a few USD's will come in handy. If you need to take some that's ok. I always suggest to those who need to do so is that they take what they need, but immediately also power up the same amount. So, let's say you have 100 in liquid...Take 50 and power up 50 at the same time. That way when people look (and we do) we can see you're working to balance it out and are keen to support that blockchain. That will almost certainly add up to me handing out bigger upvotes to those who do that.

Don't worry about the whales, they'll do what they do. Besides, people that get those votes often take it for granted and when it stops, as it invariably always does, they have no real relationships because they've been fucken lazy. Do what you're doing, build real relationships...the rest will take care of itself.

You're doing well, just keep doing that and you'll be happy with your time here, and rewarded.

Hi @galenp!
I was delighted to be able to participate. I'm so grateful for the opportunity, hope you have a great week!

Thank you for being involved, it was a pleasure to read your post and I hope you'll be back.

Have a good week ahead.

(>‿◠)✌

Thanks @galenkp! I really enjoyed participating this weekend and look forward to being more active. I appreciate the dialogue we had as well. Have a great week!

No worries, I appreciated your post and am thankful to people like you who have supported this concept for 161 weeks running.

Have a good week.

Cool, thanks for the mention and points. I really enjoy writing for these each week. I also love looking through all the ones who make the list on Monday. Got a doc appointment today that may take some time, but I will get to them eventually. Love this stuff.

You're very welcome, I liked the personality you showed in your post, it was a no-brainer to include it.

All the best with the doc, and have a good week ahead.

Thanks. You have a good one too.

Thanks for the contest, the support and the appreciation!
Looking forward to the next one

Thank you in return for being involved, you always bring great value.

Great life stories and opinions this week as well. I really liked 1, 2 and 5.
Great creativity and good writing.

I know, the topics for Friday are already written...I'll wait patiently.

Thanks for so much Galen!
Great start to the week!

I hope you have a good week also, and hope that wlthe weekend comes around quickly. 😊

It will be a very hot week, I think 37 to 39 degrees. Drink lots of water!

Yes, let the weekend come!

Good night, see you tomorrow, have a great day!

I would melt...and not in a good way. Lol.

That's where I'm at, slowly melting and not in a good way lol.

Taking fresh things and giving air with the fan, until these days pass. Then some more will come in August.

congratulations to all the mentions, see you next weekend☺️

 last year (edited)

Indeed, there were some great posts...many of which I couldn't include in this list. (I can't put everyone's post in there.) Thanks for your continued support for the concept.

I understand, when it's the weekend and there are so many good writers it must be a bit difficult for you to choose, well I'll have to keep working hard for future weekend commitments and it's a pleasure for me to be able to participate in each weekend commitment

Maybe I need a team of judges? (But that would be even harder deal with I think.)

well everything according to your decisions dear friend, you are the boss

Thanks @galenkp (´。• ◡ •。`) ♡

You're welcome.

Thank you @galenkp for including my post here, I really appreciate it. I've been discouraged these days, but the hair thing looks good to participate hahaha...

Congratulations to @dahpilot, @coinjoe and @triplug.

...and to everyone mentioned here. I read many of them and they did an excellent job.

🌻

You're welcome.

Congratulations to everyone who was included in the featured readings of the weekend commitment and to all of us who every week promote with our creation the topics that you present to us well, Galen. We meet again this week 162.

Thank you very much and have a great week.😎

162 is coming in hot...Well, on Friday it will be.

Even if you don't believe me Galen, every Friday when I wake up at 5 am, I always think that Galen will have us, how interesting! For this weekend- engagement.

I feel like a child waiting for a candy, lol

I believe you, we all love candy. I actually look forward to seeing the entries too, there are often some really great ones.

This is cool

How can I participate in this contest

See the topics post I make each Friday which is available on my post feed and is pinned to the top of the community feed each Friday evening. The next will be released this Friday. There's a set of rules which I enforce, so be sure to read and understand them, and follow them also.

They made me smile this week. I also learned some new expletives, but nothing beats the classics. What would South Park be like if they replaced F*cker with churlish chap? It just wouldn't be the same by sblood.

Lol, churlish chap just doesn't have the same pleasing ring to it does it?

Hahaha !LOL

This scene made my day.

There is a autopsy convention starts this week.
Friday is open Mike night.
