Hey @grindle, it looks like @amirl gave you a little downvote on this comment. He started trashing Hive and extolled the "awesomeness of Blurt" and went there. He's been downvoting me, and a couple to @meesterboom, for a while whilst he powers down and it looks like you copped one here. So, I've thrown a bigger upvote on your comment.

There's mean-spirited, bitter people on Hive just like in the offline world and they'll always prioritise themselves. This particular user went out of his way to say some pretty hateful things about me, (Nazi, anti-semite, white-trash and so on, despite me not deserving it, or even being white in fact. @meesterboom stood up to it, as did I, and the user proceeded to spew vitriol, denigrate Hive and then go to Blurt. He's back now casting these downvotes but they really are irrelevant.
I've had almost 70 downvotes in the last few days from him, Boomy has many also, and they all mean nothing. I just wanted to address the one you got as it was probably only cast on you to annoy me. They all amount to literally nothing though and only serve to hammer home the reasons multiple people (not just Boomy and I) addressed this entitled, self-serving user in the first place.
You may get some more so let me know I'll throw upvotes on them.

Take a look at the posting guide pinned to the top of the community feed if you like, and the rules. It's all pretty simple. I do these #weekend-engagement concepts each Friday and they run all weekend. The #weekend-engagement tag is used as the first tag for entries. I'll wrap week 122 up tomorrow but a new one will be out on Friday for week 123. Other than that, anything weekend-related can be posted any day of the week and the tags just need to match the post, as always.

Nope, no snow in Adelaide but it snows in other parts of the country.
Reading about the second topic I felt somewhat identified. We recently arrived in a new country and we couldn't find an apartment to rent, it was so difficult that I felt homeless and we were already thinking of going to a temporary shelter because we were paying so much for Airbnb that our savings were running out.
Maybe I will write something about my experience. 🥹
Well, maybe. The question says that you need to have no family, no friends and no money though. It's designed to make you think about being destitute and homeless, like wandering the streets with no money in your pocket and no possessions.

I'm all good mate, been burning the candle at both ends and dropped hot wax on places that didn't feel so good, but otherwise, I'm good. I hope you are too.
Nah, daylight savings kicked in last week. Was 8.30 - and we were more than unusually tired. Went to Sydney Thursday night to see Phantom of the Opera, it was OK, but a long day. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive to where we get a hotel, then an hour on the train. But the problem we had, all around central station was flooding and it killed the train system. We finished at the Opera House about 10 - and should have been back to the hotel around 11.15ish; nope - 1.30am. Trains kept being delayed and cancelled, was crazy. We were standing on one platform where our line should have come every 15 minutes; and, it took it 75 minutes to get out of central!
But, that's kind of good - will give me a story for the office Monday, otherwise, all I got is, 'Yea, the show was fine'.
Oh yeah, I forgot about DST.
Flooding huh? What a crazy winter and spring we're having. Here it's rarely stopped raining and they say it's going to continue until Christmas. I'm a bit over it. I don't mind rain at all, cooler weather and all, but it's usually interspersed with sunny days and we just haven't had that many this year. I want to talk to management! Lol.
It sound like you had a bit of an experience, I assume in Sydney. Crazy bloody place that is. I hope you have a good weekend though.
Ah, all we get in NSW is rain lately too, and because the ground water is full - any rain is turning to flash flooding. It's a crazy situation, with dams that were at less than 1% capacity in some regional areas continuing to break their levels.
But - enough about water, let's talk about homelessness. Did you know that October 10th is International Homeless Day? A timely prompt! I cheated a bit with your prompt, but it felt right to discuss fruit ;)

What a nice gesture you had with those people, you even took away the gift you had for your mom. Surely you were rewarded twice as many fruits to replenish your mother what you had offered her. It's good that there are still people who feel sorry for what happens to their peers because every day I see people who don't seem to care how others live but them. I congratulate you for your good heart @lordtimoty

Over there they say that the one who doesn't have and gets to be crazy wants to go back. In this case I would say that it applies: the one who had it and ends up losing it crazy can come back. The internet and modernity came to improve things, I can't imagine living in the era where firewood was collected for cooking or water was collected because it didn't come through pipes in the house like it does now.

In 2016 there was a phenomenon in Venezuela of stealing the cables that brought the internet to homes. The telephone company that was the one that distributed the service was quite affected by the loss of this material since there were many meters of cables that had to be replaced to the users. I remember that at that time many people (or all) benefited from the games and Internet pages for economic support for the home. It was a real chaos to be left without internet and without communication.
So you can imagine what it was like for an entire community to be left without service. The total caos.
Humanities reliance on the internet may be one of the reasons it crumbles. Just my opinion.

I've never seen it snow in real life before, only on Tv or on my phone when I'm watching random things.
I wish to see the snow someday, this is one of the reasons why I wish to travel out. I need to visit another country, but I will just trust God that it will happen someday, maybe when he says it's time.
Homeless weekend...hmm...it feels hard connecting to this one, I can't relate to it cos I've never been homeless. I could try to imagine it and just write something but, No...let's take a look at the third one.
No-device weekend.
Okay, I can relate to this one, it has happened before and it isn't always the best feeling...However, it is not good for my mental well-being, to stay sad because there is no device to pass the time with.
I have experienced this before and I do a few things to get myself out of that mood of boredom what is bearable for me is the fact that I derive joy in being indoors.
I will try to put out something before the end of today. Keeping in mind that whatever I publish in the community is a showcase of me.
I hope you have a great day and your to-do list ready too, someone like me tends to get distracted with other things, so my to-do list helps me do the major things before sparing time for distractions.
