Don't know about the hogweed, but I know I bite so yeah...Everything in Australia does. Officially.
Burning plants...Yeah, I'll not be hugging those ones. Everything else is fair game though.
I once got a solid hogweed glance to the nethers...Didn't go well for me. These days I'm more vigilant when I hug hogweed and (usually) wear clothing.
