What a laugh I had! The English translation is not appropriate to the phrase we Venezuelans say when these things happen to us, but I understood it perfectly anyway.

Sometimes things happen to us that at least we who have that humor for everything, laughing at misfortunes, know how to appreciate them for what they are, experiences that serve as a joke.

I'm glad the birthday turned out well, all things considered. At least everyone had cake.
