Okay, guys, so it's been like more than four to five years, I haven't visited the farm until this weekend, my pastor's wife decided to take me and a few of the youth from our church to help her harvest her cassava and I tell you it was the worst nightmare for me.
Although, I don't hate farms, but I can not stand the thought of depriving myself of my early morning sleep just to be in a bush called a farm. It is dreading and also, I am not a morning person, I love my morning sleep so dearly that I hate to be woken or disturbed while still on my bed. The early morning sleep is so sweet and can not be compared to night sleep for any reason.
Since I wasn't the only person called, I had no option other than to get my lazy self out of the bed, although I was late I was able to get there on time to join others on the farm.
Although it was kinda raining that morning but we were lucky it wasn't a big rain and the place the farm was located was in an interior village with bad roads and all of that but we got there early enough to begin the harvesting before the sun could set in.
Our disappointment grew worse when we decided to comb around the farm and saw that the farm was in a bad shape as it had little or no cassava in some stems and this is as a result of the Fulani was go around with their cow allowing their animals to enter into the farm and destroy people's farm produce.
Although the farm is a big land but those animals did so much damage to the land and we are afraid of what it has done and not sure if the farm can get back its shape for another season of planting. So, it was suggested that they do the "baby step style" not to end up wasting our time and resources and getting nothing at the end of the season.
After much surveying of the land, we decided to head home because the weather was no longer friendly and it was a waste of time. Although we got few cassavas but I couldn't stand to take a picture as the rain started making every one of us run to a shelter.
When the rain subsided we all got into the tricycle that brought us down there and headed back to where we came from.
When I got home, I was extremely tired and hungry and decided to pay the supermarket in my street a visit before getting home. I saw other people who came to also purchase few groceries for themselves.
After going around and looking for exactly what would be suitable for my growling stomach, I came up with the idea of eating Indomie noodles, since it is fast and easy to cook.
Got home, prepared the noodles, rushed to take my bath, came back, got dressed, and sat down to devour the food. When I was done, kept the plate away and lay down to sleep to get back my strength.
You try after five year and thank God the work is not much and there are other people with you. But the Fulani did a bad thing.
I tell you, those people have destroyed so many people's farms with their animals.
