Unexpected moments can sometimes be the most memorable. Finding time for one another might be difficult when life gets hectic, but occasionally an impromptu date can become an unforgettable event. That’s exactly what happened when we decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle and create a whirlwind romance, even if just for a few hours. What started as a quick, impromptu date turned into a memory that would last long after we parted ways. Every moment felt enchanted, from the chuckles to the glances that were stolen. Here is a peek into our brief but unforgettable journey, demonstrating that love doesn't always take a long time to have an effect.
Hello everyone, welcome once again to an episode of this blog. For today’s post, I would like to share one of the most spontaneous dates we've had, which we rarely get to do together due to our very busy schedules. Sometimes, we need this kind of date as therapy for ourselves.
December 21, 2024 (Saturday) – As I headed home, I was craving something spontaneous, maybe a quick snack or any food corner I might come across. Luckily, my boyfriend is always up for an adventure. Our first stop was at Little Tea to grab a milk tea, since my boyfriend had been craving it for a while. We don’t usually drink milk tea because it’s often too sweet and sugary. But today, I decided to let him satisfy his craving, as it's a treat we sometimes enjoy.
My boyfriend chose his favorite Black Sugar Milk Tea with Black Pearls and a 70% sugar level. When I tasted it, it was very sweet at first. At that moment, we realized we should mix it so that the sugar syrup would blend throughout the drink, since all the sugar had settled at the bottom.
As we strolled through SM City Cebu, I decided to treat myself to Llaollao. I’ve been craving it for so long. It’s not that I can’t afford it, but I wanted to test my self-control before buying it since it’s a bit expensive for me. At that moment, all I could think was that I truly deserved this after months of craving it.
I wanted to try the trending Biscoff syrup, but unfortunately, it was already sold out. I decided to go for the large size, which cost 239 PHP (I guess?), and it already included 3 toppings. First, I chose dark chocolate syrup, then for the crunch, I went with nutty walnuts. Lastly, for the fruit, I picked fresh strawberries since it was my first time eating fresh strawberries.
When I tasted it, wow! It was absolutely delicious! If you're a frozen yogurt lover, I highly recommend trying this. The yogurt had a rich, milky flavor, and the fruits—gosh, they were so fresh! The syrup was incredibly tasty and, although expensive, it was worth every bite. The crunch from the walnuts added the perfect touch. It may be pricey for those on a tight budget, but it’s definitely worth the experience.
As we started to feel hungry, we debated between unlimited wings or samgyupsal. If it were up to me, I’d choose unlimited wings since I’m a huge fan of fried chicken. However, we both wanted to try something new that we hadn’t experienced together this year. That’s why we decided to dine at Chosun Chicken, a samgyupsal place located at APM Centrale.
Chosun Chicken is a must-try; it’s incredibly delicious and savory. For me, it’s authentic Korean chicken. I’ve tried Chosun Chicken before, and it’s definitely a win for me—it's boneless and unlimited! For only 499 PHP, you can enjoy their unlimited samgyupsal with ramen, plus this authentic Korean chicken.
This is the setup when you enter the place. The atmosphere is very cozy, and the staff is incredibly accommodating. Before you enter, they make sure everything is prepared at the table, so when you walk in, all you have to do is take a picture or dive right into the delicious side dishes and main course. All in all, it’s worth the price and definitely worth the experience. Maybe next time, we’ll eat here again.
We really enjoyed every bite of the food. It was all worth it. I loved the Japchae, ramen, fishcakes, beef bulgogi, and, of course, the highlight—the all-flavored chicken. Meanwhile, my boyfriend enjoyed cooking the meat, ramen, Tteokbokki, kimchi, and also the chicken. I love how we shared these moments together, and it feels amazing to realize that we can now afford to enjoy samgyupsal.
As we headed home, we passed by Don Macchiatos and saw their newest flavor, the Ube Series. Being lovers of the purple color, we couldn’t resist trying their latest flavor. We bought just one and chose the pure ube flavor. When we tasted it, it was incredibly delicious! We could really taste the authentic goodness of the ube, perfectly complemented by their milk. It’s definitely a must-try.
If you’re wondering how we manage our spending on dates like this, we follow the 50-50 rule. Sometimes, if I have extra money, I’ll treat him, and if he has extra money, he’ll treat me. That’s how we handle our budgeting when we go on dates like these.
We couldn't help but smile at the happiness that a straightforward, impromptu excursion had offered us. It was the little things that made it special, not the grandiose preparations or the hours spent together. It served as a reminder that love doesn't have to be difficult, whether it was through tasting new foods, laughing together, or simply spending time together. The most memorable dates can occasionally be the quickest ones. We knew then that this brief date would live in our memories for a very long time.
You should reward yourself occasionally, and there's no better way to do that than to spend time with your boyfriend or yourself. It's crucial to take a break and cherish the time spent with the person you love, even though life can get hectic and we frequently prioritize obligations and other people's demands. These times, whether it's going on an impromptu date, enjoying a great dinner together, or just spending time together, let you both rejuvenate and deepen your relationship. In addition to bringing happiness, treating yourself together makes enduring memories and serves as a reminder to cherish your unique moments together.
