The Beach of Bituon Dako
Located at barangay Muabog, Tabogon, Cebu, Philippines
What's up Hive! How are you today? I hope all of you are doing well.
Last Sunday morning, June 02, 2024, my nephew and nieces wanted to go to the beach. Although their parents does not allowed them to go because nobody can watch them while on the beach. The parents are also busy doing the household task. The mother is cooking food while the father is repairing something in their house.
I heard them asking favor from their parents about going to the beach and I told my brother and sister in law that I will go with them, and we will only swim for 1 or 2 hours.
The landscape of the beach from the top.
The kids are very delighted and can't wait to swim. We decided to go to Bituon Dako beach. That is how local people in our barangay called the shore.
Bituon Dako - it means a "big star"
According to the old people, there is a big tree on that beach long time ago and the name of the tree is Bituon. That is why the old people who live in our barangay called the beach as Bituon Dako Beach.
Bituon - it means "star"
It is just a walk from home and there is no entrance fee. It is free and everybody are welcome to do picnic and swim.
Here we are! at Bituon Dako beach
The coast is not long and wide, but it has a white sand. There is a lot of fishing boats in the area. In front of it are big houses owned by private individuals.
My niece is be seated beside the foods that we bought.
Before going to the place, we dropped by in a small store to buy foods like bread and finger foods to eat while enjoying the water on the beach.
The route going to the coast.
The land going to the area is private. However, the owner gives a right of way for the local people and fishermen to passed going to the beach. They also allowed the fishermen to park their fishing boats on the area without asking anything in return. The owner of the two properties is kind hearted and really have the sympathy to the local people in the area.
The design of the house looks like a castle.
The pink huge house on the left side was owned by a Filipina wife and her husband, an American.
The rest house on the other side was owned by a Filipino couple.
The owners both does not live on their properties. Though, they have caretakers who watch after the house.
The concrete stairs made by the owner of the property for the local people.
The footpath going to the beach is very difficult because of its topography. It is high slope. The owner of the pink house developed the way going to the beach by putting concrete stairs so that it is easy for the locals to passed by.
The ornamental plants were trimmed gorgeously by the caretaker of the property.
While walking going to our destination, I take pictures of the street and the surroundings. I enjoyed watching the ornamental plants and trees in front of the gates.
The seaweeds or brown sargassum floating on the water.
The waves
When we arrived on the beach, we were all surprised because we really thought that the ocean is calm. It is big waves and there is a lot of seaweeds floating on the water.
We are still happy, and I just reminded the two kids to swim on the shallow part because the waves are quite big, and the tension of the water is a little bit extreme.
My other two nieces, the teenagers, does not like to swim. So, I ask favor from them to help me in watching the two kids who are already swimming.
I also ask one of my nieces to hold my phone and take pictures of the beach and also to us while we are on the water.
The front gate of the house. Alongside the gate is the pathway going to Bituon Dako beach.
I really like the design of the house. It looks like a castle. I don't take pictures on the full view of the front of house because I was not able to ask permission from the caretaker that I will take pictures on the house. I really like the design and the color. I also like the design of the roof. It is not metal. It looks like a concrete which is really designed for the infrastructure near the ocean. So that it will not easily get rusted unlike the metal roof.
They also have a concrete shades facing the ocean.
I was very curious on how it feels to have a huge house like them. Maybe my time will be consumed in keeping the house tidy.
We are walking going home.
Since the situation of the ocean is relatively have a big wave, I told the kids that we will not stay longer due to the condition of the ocean. We only stay for 1 hour and then after eating our snacks, we just went home.
When we are home, everybody was surprised why we went home early. They are asking if we are not enjoying the water on the beach. We told them about the condition of the ocean, and they are glad that we did not stay longer. It is also a timing because when we arrived home, the breakfast was ready. I just drink hot coffee and eat biscuits. Though, the kids were eating fried rice before we went to the beach.
That would be all for my Sunday morning. Thank you for reading my blog and for having my back. Take care everyone and never forget to smile and take a deep breathe no matter how stressful and tired your day is.
