For several weeks preparations were made, contributions were collected for the highly anticipated football match between FRC and Campus. My weekend climaxed with this epic and awesome football match. The match was scheduled to start by 3pm but due to rain and harsh weather conditions the kickoff was 4:30pm when the weather was quite favorable.
Drinks, snacks and water was made available for post match eating. The match was quite intense with both sides missing chances that could have padded the scoreline. I started on the bench due to tactical reasons mentioned by the coach. First half ended with my team FRC leading by a goal to nill and complete dominance of the opposing team who did well to absorb all the pressure while defending excellently to let only one goal in.
After the first half two changes were made and I was one of the subs to enter, I play as a dm and sometimes cm but yesterday I was a dm with clear instructions to protect the back four right behind me.
Despite the injury I sustained and the resulting fatigue from the match, I still found it very interesting because I love the sport and it's a great form of exercise for me. The match ended 2 nill I'm favour of my team FRC. It was an awesome time and the weekend was well climaxed.
