Let me play among the stars...
Another weekend is here which I hope you are all enjoying it. Yesterday when I read the call of the week's engagement topic, Music, I thought I would write about one of my favorite songs and its meaning, then in the course of the day other ideas came to my mind, but with something in common, songs related to the moon.
So I'll answer two questions with two songs I love, but just one moon.
Tell us about a piece of music or song you love, that moves you, and makes you feel deeply. Share the link to the music if you like.
If I have to choose one song that has deep meaning to me, it is Fly Me to The Moon. I used to have a CD in the car with old songs, which had it. At that time, my son was little, and he developed a fondness for the song, to the point that every time he got in the car, he would ask me for the song, and he sometimes could listen to it on loop. He also loved it when we sang it out loud.
Now that he is a teenager about to turn 18, he still loves the song. We have a sort of pact that my husband usually rolls his eyes at, and that is that before he leaves home to study away, we will both get a small tattoo of the moon. I've never gotten one in my life, but that small moon is tattooed in my near future.
Although my favorite will always be Sinatra's version which was the one I had on the Cd, I recently love to listen to it in this cover that also has a version of the song Lucky.
If you could gift a song or piece of music to another Hive user, who would it be, what song or piece of music and why would you gift it to that person?
Many of you may have never heard Venezuelan music, or maybe you have and don't know. The most famous Venezuelan song of all time for me is undoubtedly Caballo Viejo. It is said that the song has more than 400 versions and has been sung in more than 12 languages. So there is a good chance that you have heard one of its versions. However, I'm not going to gift you one of Caballo Viejo's versions. Its composer was the Venezuelan musician Simón Díaz, who was the best referent of Venezuelan music and who is much more than his famous Caballo Viejo. His Tonadas (tunes) reach your soul.
The Tonadas in the Venezuelan plains are work songs that usually accompany the different tasks of the "llanero" (plainsmen), such as the milking.
One of the most beautiful is the Tonada de Luna Llena by Simón Díaz, which several artists have also covered. One of the best-known is the version of the Brazilian singer Caetano Veloso. But the cover of this Tonada I have liked the most in recent times is the one I want to share with you, and is in the voice of the Mexican singer Natalia Lafourcade featuring Gustavo Guerrero is simply beautiful.
I won't choose any particular user to gift the song to, but if you stop by and listen to it, it's for you, and I would love to know your impression in the comments.
This is my entry for this week's Weekend Engagement topic, Music.
Thanks for reading!

Beautiful songs Eli, I also grew up with them and have fond memories built around them. Although Fly me to the Moon recently was featured in an episode of Squid Game in a very creepy way I still love it. And Tonada de Luna Llena, it has one of the most amazing falsetto I have heard in my life, a master piece all the way 💕
I think I'm just one of few that hasn't watched Squid Game yet; however, Fly Me to The Moon could never be creepy for me ;) And I agree with you Tonada de Luna Llena is a masterpiece. ♡
Loving crypto it is no wonder you like flying to the moon!
I had actually heard of Old Horse when I was looking at Venezuelan music before, it does seem that Caballo Viejo is the most famous song :)
Caballo Viejo is very famous, and since you have lived in southern Spain, you maybe have listened to it. Caballo Viejo has been versioned in Flamenco many times.
I am sure I have, I did listen to plenty of Flamenco.
Fly Me To the Moon is a great song and I love the pact that you made with your son, it's so sweet❤
The Tonada is amazing! As I am lying in bed as I listened to it, I felt like it was a lullaby :)
I'll tell you more about the pact when I get the tattoo, sis. And it looks like it won't be long before I have to get it done ;)
I'm glad you liked la Tonada de Luna Llena.♡
Will wait for it sis, and would love to see the tattoo as well :D and yes, I liked it altho didn't understand any of the lyrics hehe
i love that song too sis! and yes let's fly to the moon with crypto
Let's hope for that moon in crypto, sis ;)
I was startled by the intro of the song when I played it loudly and I'm here at a public place 🤣🤣
Haha! I hope no one turned to see you!😂
I quit it right away 🤣
