Christmas came to my mother's house

Weekend, it's almost the middle of December. This year is about to end soon.

Christmas was not yet at home, we had not put up any decorations. Previously at this time of year, the house was painted on the outside and inside, the color was renewed.
With the situation of the country this tradition is no longer possible, but what is not possible is to maintain the joy and spirit of Christmas.

Today my sister has dedicated herself to making the manger, a representation of where Jesus was born. A tradition of Venezuelan families.

Fin de semana, ya estamos casi a mitad de mes del diciembre. Este año está por terminar pronto.
La navidad aún no llegaba a la casa, no habíamos colocado ningún adorno. Anteriormente en estas fechas, se pintaba la casa por fuera y por dentro, se renovaba el color.
Con la situación del país esta tradición ya no es posible, pero lo que no si es posible es mantener la alegría y el espíritu navideño.
Mi hermana hoy se ha dedicado hacer el pesebre, una representación de dónde nació Jesús. Una tradición de las familias venezolanas.

I no haven't helped much in decorating, I'm not very creative by any means.
But I worked with my sister to repair the lights, as I had some burnt-out bulbs that I had to replace.

Yo no he ayudado mucho a decorar, no soy muy creativa que se diga.
Pero colaboré con mi hermana reparando las luces, ya que tenía algunos bombillos quemados que tuve que sustituir.

My daughter has made the letter to the child God, asking for gifts.
This year she has asked for a doll and a car to drive her around.

Mi hija ha realizado la carta al niño Dios, pidiendo regalos.
Este año ella ha pedido una muñeca y un coche para pasearla.

For me the Christmas season is the best time of the year.
Since I am a little girl I have always enjoyed it.
From putting up the decorations, the music, the gifts, the family sharing and the typical food of the season.
My family is very happy and united and we always enjoy this time of year.

Para mi la época navideña es la mejor del año.
Desde que estoy pequeña siempre la he disfrutado.
Desde colocar los adornos, la música,los regalos, el compartir familiar y la comida típica de la época.
Mi familia es muy alegre y unida y siempre disfrutamos estás fechas.

Seven years ago at this time I was pregnant and brought my daughter into the world on the very day of the birth of God's child. That year, in spite of being an adult woman, I received the gift of having in my arms the purest being that I love with all my soul, my daughter.

Hace 7 años atrás para estas fechas estaba embarazada y traje al mundo a mi hija el mismo día del nacimiento del niño Dios. Ese año apesar de ser una mujer adulta recibí el regalo de tener entre mis brazos al ser más puro y que amo con toda mi alma mi hija.

This year will be a bit of an atypical Christmas, because of the pandemic plus the country situation. But we will keep hope and faith that everything will change. We have life, health and a family to thank God for.

Este año serán unas navidades un poco atípicas, por lo de la pandemia más situación país. Pero mantendremos la esperanza y la fe que todo va a cambiar. Tenemos vida, salud y una familia por la que dar gracias a Dios.
