Medellin, Cebu is a first class municipality that offers plenty of tourist attraction from adventure down to its fine and white sand beaches. If you are looking for a blue water refuge and serene environment, Medellin should not be a miss.
The said municipality is one of my comfort places alongside with the municipality of Daan Bantayan. They are my go to places whenever I needed a breather from all the chaos and toxicity of life. I have already shared to you the beauty of Daan Bantayan thus, this blog shall focus on Medellin.
One Sunday afternoon, after a long nap, I decided to visit the said municipality as I needed to be away from social media. I was alone at home since my sisters were in Cebu City with their scheduled appointments. I have already finished my house chores and felt the need to go out for a breather.
I hopped on my motorcycle, wore my helmet, turned on the engine and rode to Medellin. I was thankful to mother earth for a very fine weather. Just when I was about to pass the dockside, I took a glimpse of it and found a very fascinating gem. It had awaken my curiosity thus, I hurriedly made a U-turn to check it out.
And there, it lies the Medellin Boardwalk.
It was just funny that I have been passing the dockside many times but only discovered this beauty just today (as of this writing). To be honest, to me it was kind of hidden since it was behind the famous dockside.
I immediately walked to it after I parked my motorcycle. The time was suitable for a saunter at the Boardwalk. You guessed it right, the sun was about to set. The place was filled with people. Most were on group specifically group of friends, family and a couple wanted to chill and witness the charisma of the sunset and cherish the serene ambient. You can watch the sky change its colors while the calm sea slowly claims the sun as if it was his own. If you are a sunset lover like me, this is one of the places to be.
The boardwalk is an ideal venue for a laid back hang out with friends or family over food and drinks and a great avenue for a jog or run. It is also ideal for solitude and do some reflections. It is similar to the Sunset Boardwalk of Daanbantayan only that it has no benches. However, its construction is still ongoing.
Starving after taking a stroll at their boardwalk? Need not to worry. Their famous dockside is to the rescue. It is just a walking distance from the boardwalk.
Dockside Medellin holds an array of food stalls from meals to desserts. It has variety of food to choose from as they offer Barbeque, Filipino dishes such as pansit, sizzling sisig (a dish made from pork jowl and ears, pork belly and chicken liver), Japanese Cuisine like sushi, Korean dishes and a lot more.
It has a second floor for a sea view dinning experience. However, it was closed during my visit. It would be lovely to have my dinner at that area. Or you may take out your food and bring it to the board walk to have that kind of experience.
I believe they usually operate at night. If not, please correct me. It is an excellent spot for family dinner gatherings, birthday celebrations or just a simple dinner with your comrades. It is also a place where you could drink and chill with your friends.
A ten to fifteen minute ride from the dockside will take you to their public plaza or the Medellin People's Park where their children's playground is situated.
This place is perfect for kids who love to play outdoors. A break from their gadgets and meet new friends. They have recreational equipment such as swings, slides and seesaws that they could enjoy.
Aside that it is for children, it is also for teens' rendezvous as well as the adults who just wanted to take a sip of relaxation. It is surrounded with food stalls and people would often bring and eat their food and drinks to the plaza. It has benches and tables with chairs suitable for a group of people.
I ordered mango shake which I craved and a sour cream fries on one of the food stalls and brought it to the plaza. I found a vacant table and laid my food. I was just gleefully watching the kids carefree playing at the playground.
“Oh to be a kid again.” I uttered in envy.
10pm ticked on the clock and I knew it was time for me to go home. I finished my food and threw the container in the trash can.
Always remember; CLAYGO (Clean As You Go). It is always a must as a responsible citizen and a visitor. Always leave no traces.
And those were just few of the tourist attractions or spots in Medellin I could mention here in my blog and all of us knew that there are still a lot to mention. I have already posted about the wonderful Treehouse by Manna Grill and one of its beautiful beaches, the Villa Edar. I have already been to their Medellin aisle, famous Bamboo Forest and Paradizzo Beach Resort which I will post soon. Piece by piece, I will unfold it all to you on my next blogs.
Or to those who have been to Medellin, you may recommend me some places I have never been for me to visit it. I love discovering new places and I would really love and appreciate your suggestions.
Bonus:
Look how beautiful the sky was during that time.
Isn’t it marvelous?
The sky view while driving transported me to utopia (Chef’s kiss). It was my first time driving under the orange sky and I could not contain my happiness.
And that is all for today's blog. Thank you for reading.
Until the next one.
With so much love - XOXO,
Bev 😘

Wow, People's Park has been improved. Before, it was artless, tye construction went too long and only few people visited there. But, now, it was really worth watching and visiting. Thabks for sharing @bingbing1218
