Does it actually work?

What in the world is a hangover cure?

Hello there, full-time weekenders!

Being hangover isn't something usual for me. I do enjoy drinking as a social activity, but refrain from trying to get wasted while I'm at it. Alcohol is already really bad for us and going into excessive drinking isn't even worth it. But that's not to say I haven't experienced this state more than once in my life. There are times when I've gone past drinking. The good part is living to regret it. However, make no mistake. I wish I were dead instead of dealing with the consequences.

There are many things people consider hangover cures. I have heard about coffee, water, sports drinks, savory food, greasy food. There are even smoothies like the one made by Barney in the series How I Met Your Mother. All of these are effective to a degree. The only one I consider solid on this issue are water and sports drinks. Hangovers are all about dehydration. So recovering water level in the body is important and getting electrolytes is crucial as well.

Back when one of my cousins got married, I went to his wedding with my aunt and another cousin. It was a wedding near the beach at another town. We traveled there. I got really wasted during the reception. It was so bad that I don't remember much about the whole night. I have a faint recollection of getting there, eating something, getting to drink, dancing a bit. Last thing I know, I woke up in a bed in an inn. My shirt was stained with blood. My head was banging. I felt like shit.

I went into a bathroom. Got to check myself out. I had a small wound on my head. I bet that's why I had blood stains in my shirt.

Anyways, we went back to the place of the reception since part of the family was staying there. Before it, we went to get some stuff in town. My aunt gave me a lollipop. She also told me I was going to feel better when I had finished it. She also told me not to chew on it. The candy was not special. It was a plain regular lollipop. I think that one was lime flavored or something like that.

And truth be told, the hangover faded away as I spent time with the lollipop in my mouth. When it was done, I felt better. Then, I had a cool beach day. And the memory of the bad hangover was gone. If you're wondering about the head wound, it was a thing of being drunk. I hit my head with a chair. Face and head wounds are crazy. You tend to bleed a lot even from a small cut.

So that's my crazy hangover cure. A simple piece of candy stuck to a stick. I still don't believe it works that well, but it does. I can also add I have never gone through another hangover as to need this remedy. But it is a cool thing to have in hand just in case you happen to forget how much alcohol you can drink without getting wasted.

Ahhh un chupetin, we would say in Argentina hahaha, I will keep it in mind in case it happens to me someday...I don't usually drink and if I do it is half a glass hahaha it makes me sleepy hahahaha

I better prepare a lollipop when I decide to get drunk 😁
Pero tiene mucho sentido - te entretienes con la piruleta y te olvidas de hangover y al final de verdad ya estás mejor 😁

You better take this idea 😂
