Hello Hivers, have a blissful day ahead! I hope you have 😊
Weekends are regarded as one of the most favorable times for families. These days provide an opportunity for relaxation, bonding, and quality time together. Weekends offer a respite from the obligations of work and school, allowing family members to recharge and enjoy without the stress of workweek routines. Hehehe!
The moments of togetherness are essential for creating lifetime memories and strengthening family bonds.
A part of our weekend bonding was attending mass on Sundays. We attended it in Compostela Church. It was a sense of spiritual fulfillment, peace, and reflection.
Compostela Church
The Compostela Church in Cebu Philippines is known for its Spanish colonial architecture.
The Exterior Design
Bell Tower - One of the most important exterior designs is a church must-have. It is adjacent to the main church structure. It is used to call the faithful of the people in the community to worship and also symbolizes the church's presence in the community.
Coral Stone - The church was built from elegant and durable coral stones which added to its vintage appearance.
Facade Details - Elaborate Facade that is meticulously maintained of cleanliness. A solemn place to reflect and meditate, admiring the structural aesthetics of the church.
Wooden Door at the Entrance - It is made of finely carved wood which is rich in deep mahogany hue.
The Interior Design
As per the norm, the interior design of the church holds significant importance most especially its spiritual atmosphere. It sets the tone for prayer and reflection, creating a sacred and serene ambiance for religious activities.
After the mass, we decided to stroll around the church's vicinity while having some small talk about our little family.
The Compostela Church has a wide open space. At the center adjacent to the church's facade was built a skyscraper which is important for churchgoers and offers a shade of comfort during the hot and rainy weather.
In addition, it has a candle-lit area and a medium size crucifix that symbolizes the 500 years of Christianity. Here, we can offer our prayers, petitions, and thanksgiving to the Almighty God.
On the left side facing the church was a vast lush greenery of Bermuda plants.
On the right side facing the church was the Compostela Park. It was filled with green plants which were healthy to the eyes. Moreover, a good place for families to stroll and enjoy while eating some snacks.
On the other hand, if you got hungry, you could dine-in in these restaurants which were just parallel to the church.
The first one was “ Casata Antica" which was an Italian Restaurant, Wine and Deli Shop. We haven't had the chance to dine in here but we're hoping that we can if budget permits. Hehehe!
The second one was “Jaysette Grill and Café. We tried to take out one piece of large-size hamburger and nachos. And yeah! We liked its taste. The price was reasonable for its quality.
For our snacks after the mass, we just bought 3 pieces of fried eggs which was a popular street food in our town as well. It was made from boiled egg wrapped with a mixture of flour, eggs, and water or butter then fried until golden brown. This street food was eaten with a sweet and spicy sauce.
Then, we call it a blissful day with a grateful heart.
