your true essence, I see who you REALLY are,
I respect you, I salute you, I honor you,
I recognize you, I receive you,
I connect with you.
I don't always know how to choose well, I imagine it depends on my mood, my tastes, or the energy I am willing to expend on it.
It also depends on how much you want to enjoy it.
First I thought about talking about the possibility of going to live in the distant Middle East, or further north: the United States of America, but it is too easy for me to choose between two places that are well located in my mind in a very antagonistic way due to issues of idiosyncrasy, plus the enormous geographical distance that separates me from my beloved Latin America, and then, inevitably, I would not want to talk about customs, religions, conflicts, and much less about wars, because in the end I would still go to live with my family very far away. from my own Gaza Strip.
So among the great luck that I have had is that of wanting to share my "existential self" and some of my best moments with my four-legged baby, one of the great loves I have for this only life.
Then let's talk about which pet would you choose to have, a cat or a dog? responding to the weekend engagement topics that our host @galenkp always reserves for us so that each of us can express our ideas and feelings about the chosen point.
They say that people become emotionally attached to a cat or a dog according to the spiritual version of their personality, and seriously, I never believed much in that -- although I don't deny it either --, because humans have a very particular function enabled: sensitivity with we appreciate it a living being, and this does not allow us to make many exceptions in what we decide to choose and want.
The story of my cats.
When I was a child at home, we had a yard that adjoined many others, and we were continually visited by cats on the roofs that didn't particularly belong to anyone but that all the neighbors loved and fed, except for those that used to steal freshly marinated steaks, freshly cooked - or raw - chicken, and anything that will find on a ready-to-eat plate in our kitchens... there for, in my first 7 years of life I grew up surrounded by cats, some "good and other bad ones",depending on how the community classified them.
In short, the cats were very docile, noble and affectionate... but they had babies very frequently, and at that time there was no culture of taking them to the vet to avoid overpopulation of the species, resulting in the fact that on many occasions I remember observing baby kittens with eyes still closed of all types and colors.
They provoked an adorable fascination in me, I used to sit for hours next to a box that my mother made for them - she also liked them a lot -, and there we would shelter them until their mother decided to take them somewhere else... I guess it was and It's cat business.
One night, they dressed me in a red robe with many frills and lace dotted with butterflies and flowers everywhere and I was very capricious, I had one of the most beautiful babies in the box to caress it for a while, but it happened that there was a power cut that left me paralyzed in absolute darkness with the cat on top of me that was beginning to try to go back to its box, and since I couldn't see anything I continued touching it until I came across something warm and sticky on the fabric of my robe that I didn't know what was, until the light of a kerosene lamp came next to me with the horrified scream of my mother who snatched the cat from me and took me running in a sea of lamentations to the bathroom to remove all the cat poop that covered my robe, and something else...😬
I suppose part of the good or bad luck that accompanied me in life came from that night, could it be?
Well, actually I didn't have any more cats, except one that I rescued 13 years ago, he was completely black and had a dog bite on his thigh, I took him to my house, I cured him and he became good friends with my Luna, a Cockers Spaniels Champagne color that every day I licked him so much that I left him wet and sloppy...they were the perfect couple, but one day I decided to give him up for adoption and he left.
So, I've never really had a cat for myself.
How is it possible that I won't vindicate my desire to have a cat?
Yes, I confess that I never had a cat with whom to build a codependent relationship, despite practically knowing them and growing up with them, but you know something, I tried and I still try.
There is a marked discrimination around them because they tend to be very strong, independent and willful, and people do not trust what they cannot control, and a cat has to trust you first so that you can trust him later.
Not dogs, dogs only give unconditional love from the moment they see you, they tend to be more trusting and docile, and their greatest weakness is giving you more love than you give them.
People continue to say that a cat is treacherous, dangerous and jealous, but they do not understand that the solitary and individual nature of a feline is very different from the need of a dog to be close to its owner at all times, and that is normal, because cats know when to need you.
So,what separates many people from a cat is simply distrust and fear, because they fail to understand that their proud, cold and mysterious character only responds to the survival instinct of a species very different from a dog that is always friendly and obedient.
Of course, today I know much more about dogs than cats, because I have lived with them a lot, but I am absolutely convinced that the relationships between cats and people are as intimate and deep as those that occur between dogs and owners..
I don't know if you still have any kind of misgivings about any of these species, but I assure you with great honesty that they are only capable of changing the life of any human being who is at peace with beautiful Mother Nature.
It's just about connecting and seeing each other.
All the animals in the photos are strays, except the last one.

I had dogs as a child, not cats. Then I have lived with dogs and cats but I don't consider myself their "owner".
I think that although I don't dislike pets, I don't connect with them like other people do. For example, I don't like having animals in the house. I think they should have their own space. I can go there and give them affection (or receive the affection they give me), but I would never consider them as my children.
Maybe many people don't understand me, but I am incapable of hurting them and I suffer when I see animals being abused.
If I had to choose, I prefer dogs 😉.
Have a good day 🌷
Of course, everyone has their own world and it's normal... besides, there are animals that are kept to take care of yards and properties, and they are treated well in their place...
Maybe one day when you have more time you will discover the beautiful company that represents a doggy, in this case your favorite one...You'll see, you'll see...😁
Nice Sunday @leopard0, thank you for visiting...🙂

I love that you mentioned that phrase from Avatar, the message of seeing that movie is impressive.
I love cats since before I was born, my connection with them can't be explained, it's love love love love, and they give me so much... and they are so faithful.
I loved your words... it has to do with the degree of evolution of the soul... yeah.💗
The cat is an animal with a lot of personality, he chooses you, if he doesn't like you hummm...you won't see him much around you, but if you connect then it will be hard not to love your cat...mother nature....
A cat is rebellious and lonely and goes better with softer and more loving people...right?
Thanks @avdesing.
🌻🌻🌻
Totally agree... I am also rebellious like them hahaha but very affectionate.
🤣
I know you're joking, but words chain us. Say the opposite, and reprogram your mind.
My cat Yin, which I don't feel is mine, has given me a few lessons and it's just as you say. They have no attachment, it's all about survival and when they choose you... they give you the possibility to enjoy them, always to a certain extent.
Don't overdo it, love yourself first, they seem to tell you.
It's an art they have of managing relationships. Lol. But I have always preferred dogs.
@nanixxx, that red robe night I think I was less than five years old and that was so memorable that I can remember it....the question of course is a joke, put it one way or the other it was the 7 all over the place...Pufff...😁
I think I'll get a cat one day...I like the way they are .... independent, clean, smart, elegant, tender, calm, quiet...they are very different from a puppy....nothing, I like both species .... although I always preferred to have a puppy.
Cats can also be tamed.
A hug, more than 15 hours without electricity gave me time to do a lot of things at home that I didn't manage to do....😂
Ah,eso es lo que yo hago cuando la quitan por acá. Me pongo a hacer cosas que no lograba hacer... Jajaja... Abrazo.

Adoro los animales, pero los perritos me roban el corazón. Exelentes fotografías. Feliz día para ti. Saludos.
Puppies are almost always the favorite, yet they get more attention than a cat...the thing is that people don't know it...😁
Thanks friend, a hug.
We are still without lu'.
🥺🌻
Thank you, always a pleasure to greet you friend....
