Heading to the auction block in London next weekend (19 May) through Bonhams with the Bond Street Sale, this 1968 Aston Martin DB6 Volante is estimated around £ 400,000 / $US 550,000. The last of the series, the DB6 is one of the best sports cars produced by David Brown.
Only 140 DB6 Mark I Volantes were produced. And with this beautiful color scheme, all black, this is a beautiful example...

History of Aston Martin DB6
The Aston Martin DB6, the evolution of the iconic DB5 (just to write these three letters, I have the Bond theme song in my head 😀), was produced from 1965 to 1969 with a design by Carrozzeria Touring, famous Italian coachbuilder based in Milan, Italy. The DB6 was presented in 1965 at the London and Paris Motor Show with a convertible version designated as Volante.
This model, DB6 Mk1 Volante, was produced in only 140 examples, the first Aston Martin to be designed with the help of wind tunnel for the aerodynamism. The body was made in aluminium, the last model (with the Mk2) to use the Superleggera process done by Touring.
Specification
The Aston Martin DB6 has Tadek Marek designed 4 litre DOHC in-line six-cylinder engine mated with a ZF five speed manual transmission producing 282 hp at 5500 rpm with a top speed of 240 kmh. It can reach the 100 kmh in 8.4 seconds.
This example, one of this 140 DB6 Mk1 produced, was sold in 1968 finished in black over black leather interior. I love this interior, all black with this wooden steering wheel. Gorgeous... It would be perfect in my garage and while driving it, I could pretend to be John Wick 😀 I can dream.

My friends dad also used to learn to drive in their DB5. Very lucky lol :)
