I sometimes do see the Hive ecosystem as an evolving digital country.
Governments will have to up their game now because the monopoly system is in crumbles. Now, they'll have to compete with each other in properly taking care of their cutizens and not letting other countries take them. Thanks to technology, power has been taken away from their hands because people have more options now.

That is what the mindset is. We are going to see digital "nations" forming which might have near the power of what is present in the nation-state.

And this digital "nations" will have citizens from all over the world. Eventually, this nations will be able to influence real life situations that government themselves haven't been able or willing to do. An early example, Is the Hive borehole project in Ghana.
