Lowering any power needs in the food industry is a big step in making the world a better place.

As I'm understanding in your post, those farm would be autonomous and would not need the lots of véhicules needed for the today's food industry.

One of the things which would change the world and that would change everything is to pay more the farmers. They would even be able to pay more employees and don't use those véhicules and make things cleaner.

One of my favourite manner to make grow plants it the permaculture. The only thing you have to do is do as would do the nature. Plants your plants at the better place and you shouldn't have to do nothing more than just watering it after. With allying the good plants together you are able to have a very sens farm and it gives a lot of food and doesn't need energy at all.

It just needs people to plant and harvest because the usual combine harvesters can do it.

Now, to let people eat as they should, the most important is to use less energy to lower the cost of the culture.
