I was taught a long time ago in the Sales Game it's important to plan S.M.A.R.T.
SPECIFIC
MEASURABLE
ATTAINABLE
REASONABLE
TIMELY
If you write out your goals and they do not pass the litmus test for meeting those categories go back and re-write them so you can actually achieve your goal.
So for instance, making the goal of "doing better on Hive" is way too general and is not a S.M.A.R.T. goal.
"Publishing 730 blog posts in 2022? 500 videos? 7,000 comments in 2022" is S.M.A.R.T. That would come to 2 blog posts per day, making a daily video and on approximately every 3rd day making 2 videos and making just under 20 comments per day.
I also think on a platform like this Consistency is key. It seems to take a while to build an audience and once you do the last thing you want to do is disappear for too long.
If everyone followed the advice in your post, they would be successful and like you mentioned everything else would work itself out. The key is being able to come up with new and fresh content daily and persevering even when your posts are not getting the attention they "deserve". Over time, consistent content creators will gain critical mass.
I'm impressed with the Communities as well as all of the contests that are available to participate in. I think it's a great support system to gain exposure and create prompts for inspiring posts.
P.S.
"Nice Post by the way" haha just kidding

Certainly is. This is the point I try to drive home to people both in words and actions. A great deal of my achievements on Hive is due to showing up each day.
Perfectly acceptable when coupled with a 150 word comment. LOL
