A report this week from Public Citizen found that crypto companies have accounted for nearly half of all donations made by corporations this election cycle.
Crypto-aligned corporations have spent more than $119 million so far on 2024 elections.
Most of that cash has gone directly to super PACs working to elect pro-crypto candidates.
So far, Crypto companies' donations = BIG PHARMA + OIL + TECH + UNION...
I was also surprised by the low $ amount. I mean: $250ish mns of total contribution to both campaigns seems very low. I expected billions!
The sum, approximately $119 million, was raised from a mix of contributors, with Coinbase
and Ripple accounting for more than 80% of the donations.
This is crazy... We are definitely part of the system and if not completely, we will be going forward... Clearly the end of the CryptoPunk era!
Crypto used to be a bypartisan issue but lately, it seems like Republicans were pro-Crypto and the Biden Administration was anti to indifferent to crypto
Kamala Harris has not yet spoken much avout crypto which I find kind of odd when we read that her campaign also received sizeable donation. Honestly, it does not look promising if she is elected, but who knows...
I mean if you got tons of money from the cryptoworld and cannot even state that you won't be hostile to the industry... This is quite worrysome.
