https://usebottles.com has been a big help for me. I use an old device with no GPU. I don't have to worry about the NVIDIA problems. Wish you would soon be able to use an OS that has better security and less bloat. Best of Luck!

I had not heard of this site, thanks for the tip. My problem is that I have a very powerful GPU that I'd like to use. Also, I was a hardcore GNU/Linux user throughout my twenties, and I definitely miss it. I have at least 3 ubuntu terminals running on my windows box via WSL (windows subsystem for linux) at all times, so I guess that says something lol
You are a lot more hardcore than I am. It is honestly surprising you didn't know about Bottles. In case you have missed out on https://universal-blue.org, give it a look. I might eventually switch to it from Fedora.
GPU support is getting better on Linux. You might be able to switch back to your favorite Distro in a few years without making big compromises. Best of Luck!
