Honestly, I don't think Hive is very easy to understand, actually. There are too many web3 concepts, unwritten rules, communities, and dapps... newcomers often feel quite confused by all of this.
Well, looking at it that way, there's a lot to do :3
My learning process was progressive, maybe because of the continuous activity, it's been several years in Hive.
It was easy for me too because I knew about web3 through Axie Infinity, and I'm also a frequent user. In my case, I've been here for a year and a half.
