Frightening thought, when spelled out like that... but certainly something I have pondered to myself, from time to time. Particularly worrisome is that "the need to control" is central to psychopathy...
Yes, it is established that psychopaths tend to move to build power in order to control others - often leading to them being CEOs and running govs/mils.
The root of this is the denied/unconscious fear that free emotion will kill them.
