dCity First Impressions!

After discovering Splinterlands about a week ago and exploring the HIVE blockchain to learn enough to comfortably say I know what I'm doing here now, I began checking out other games on the blockchain. Every game I tried drew my attention... dCity kept it.

Let me start by saying, this game is very overwhelming at the beginning. It is essentially a text and number (mostly number) based city builder centered around different cards that are NFTs. These cards can act as anything from buildings, to people, to technology, to... actually that pretty much sums it up.

These cards can all have different attributes: Population, Income, Popularity, Workers, Education, and Creativity. Here is a screenshot from their descriptions in the game.

I started off by transferring over about 10 SWAP.HIVE (not HIVE, this game uses the coupon token of HIVE from platforms such as HIVE Engine or Leo DEX), since I immediately noticed the difference in value between purchasing a card for 4 SWAP.HIVE apiece or 800 SIM. SIM is the native token and is utilized for this game. 4 SWAP.HIVE will currently get you around 1770 SIM, which gets you a little over enough for 2 cards.

Either way, I transferred over enough to get me 5 cards to start, just so I could see what I would get. I bought the 2nd edition, for no particular reason since I only did minor research into the different cards from each edition, and got some building cards that would have given me a decent start. That is, if they would've been active. I went through post after post and even the discord until I finally got my answer thanks to the community. My problem was that I had no population, and therefore no workers to operate these new cards. I mean it made sense to me, I just didn't know how to get a good population.

After some more research, I finally bought a hotel, maybe an apartment or two, and invested in quite a few 'basic homes.' Problem solved! My population now sits at 179 on day 2, with a 31 SIM income. This is all after I invested in a few more cards by the way. Here is my city as it stands now:

Beginners tip!! I made the mistake of buying 22 workers due to my incorrect thinking that population and workers (the card) were separate. This is not the case! You can comfortably buy houses that also provide income and, I believe, at a better value.

Any tips for me? Anything I'm doing right/wrong? I also staked 1 SIM for fun just to see the mechanics and values it would show, but I am definitely going to be staking much more from here on out!
