I think that Hive being a public blockchain, it's free data to be mined by anybody or any company. Obviously, at least we get something out of it. But, we are no longer sheep to be shorn by the farmer. Rather, we are sheep to be shorn by anybody who fancies a go.

True lol. I guess that's the price of freedom. You are also allowed to shear the sheep. As am I, as is anyone else. That's much better than having a centralised, opaque, unaccountable oligarchy of shearers, in my view.
