The Crypto Boss Syndrome 😞

The more consistent I am in my recruiting efforts, the more other people take notice...I can be both invisible and impossible to ignore.

One of the most difficult parts of the job is letting go. The reality is talent is so scarce these days, at least the talent most needed, that when I see the slightest bit of potential is hard for me to look anywhere else after that.

So you could say there have been instances here recently when I have had to invest time into analyzing whether I'm investing too much time on a person.

Have you ever looked to the sky for signs and seen the brilliance in the lights, yet still needed a clearer commitment?

Crazy good stuff has been happening here lately, still, unrealized gains can't be called a profit or even a benefit.

In the last 6 months I've come in contact with three men, not online randomers but family members and friends of friends, who all told me they wanted to become decision-makers in crypto.

The minute I heard that, of course, I got excited. But when I asked what kind of decisions they wanted to make...I got crickets.

So you want to make decisions but you don't know what kind of decisions you want to make?

Far from that, which is disturbing on its own, when I inquired about their interests or the type of businesses they wanted to partake in they froze like a young deer on a Georgian backroad.

Let me tell you something right now, and next time someone comes to me with ambition for the sake of ambition I'll just hang up the phone, few diseases are as fatal as the one suffered by people who imagine lack of respect.

Who gets respect? What even is that? Is it love you all want? Is it adoration? I don't know what to say...

I think to myself that they're human beings and that although people can be confused they can also heal. So I gave all three individuals, against my better judgment, several opportunities to get involved in policy-making and high-level business deals over a span of weeks...care to guess what happened?

They're pretty much ghosting me at this point. They only talk to me enough for me to think they have some interest in moving a finger to work, when in reality they're expecting someday I make the mistake to pay them first for a service they haven't provided. Or perhaps they think it's best if they stay close in case I do hit the jackpot I can give them a loan they'll never pay back.

The latest dude had the audacity to ask for a position in my new company when he hasn't replied to a single email, hasn't completed a single task according to instructions, offered to commit a certain amount of time to the project and hasn't, and on top of that is now making me waste time with unrelated crypto humor...probably trying to remain on my good side.

I don't need to laugh, I laugh plenty. I laugh at myself for believing in people after I know they have lied to me once, but I mostly laugh at you all for thinking you can build a house on a weak foundation and dwell safely.

It's really embarrassing to stand there as people tell me they want to be bosses and think I will somehow be impressed by that. Hard work impresses me, determination, creativity, bravery...your little man insecurities? No, that's embarrassing...and it's scary.

Who the heck wants to be a boss? You can say you don't like being bossed around but what is the benefit of being a boss? Money? Then say you want more money! I have managed to get a few people to admit they just want money, I wish I didn't have to struggle so much to get this admission out of people.

If all you want is money because you haven't developed any real interests then that's fine, you can get some hobbies later. I suppose some people don't want to admit there's nothing calling them other than income because they don't want to seem shallow or too interested in money and thus perhaps not trustworthy.

Finding money is easy, getting the money a little harder, but almost anything can be endured with a goal in mind.

I can show you to the money, I can even tell you how to get it, but without a goal you will fail in an industry as competitive as crypto is. Or did you really think all the billions you see on Coinmarketcap just appeared out of thin air and change owners for no reason 24/7/365?

Respect is not a goal, admiration is not a goal, you can't even have the love of another as a goal...all these things are out of your control and none are fulfilling unless you like what you do and you actually do it.
