Hi guys! For say 3 weeks in Brazil in December/January, how much money would a couple need? We'd like to stop by Brasília, which is a posh place I guess, and Belém. Putting cost of accomodation and the flights aside, would you say $1,000 is fine?
Hey man! Yea if you are not including accommodation and the flights in that, it should be fine... perhaps a little more depending on how much you guys decide to drive around while visiting these places but not much more

I am Czech, but my girlfriend is Spanish, and she learnt driving in Madrid, so she's used to a bit of craziness on roads ;)
