To increase the speed of the game & add more to the chess side, we are testing when the king is in checkmate the game ends. The king will be a passive buff but will not fight like the other pieces.#Ragnarok
Thoughts?

That sounds reasonable. However there have been some good plays that can happen by being able to have the king do basic actions but it's rare.
true, at first the king was the most powerful piece, but when testing it out, it was kind of not fun. Imagine you make a good chess move get the king in checkmate, attack and then the king kills you. It makes the game longer & adds strain
good valid points. Was looking over the gameplay video you made and the amount of depth to it sounds fun AF it's shaping up nice!
That would be an interesting move.
Sounds like a great idea.
Keep in mind that I have no clue what I am talking about and take my opinion on this with a grain of salt.
After the full disclosure, it is one of the best ideas I heard.
I was not aware that Ragnarok had a chess side, I'm a huge chess player, I will take a look at this.
I think this is a great dynamic, as in chess everything can be avoided except checkmate, so a fight on checkmate makes no sense. Love this
What about the poker side of the game? Let's go!
Pretty good idea.
I like the idea. Playing lots of shorter games is preferrable (to me) than playing a few longer ones. For the masses, it also makes the game more accessible and easy to get a game in during short breaks, on mobile, etc.
In my opinión, i prefer Let the King un one move Every Time because it Is necesary move it when the King are un damage.
Sounds like a plan!
Part of the reason for the King being able to attack a range of one is to protect itself, giving the king a force-field, of range of one space. Would have to learn about the rest of the mechanics specifically that may offset/balance this.
We will have to see that movement, it sounds like a great challenge #ragnarok
