Earlier this week, this was a discussion that hit right at my heart. From all theological accounts of the creation of man, there are many pointers to the fact that man was created with a good heart to continue the legacy of its creator 'doing good'. It's rather unfortunate that we have come to a point where we ask the question, do you get tired of doing something good? The possible good in humanity has been so stretched that there is a need to ask if one can get tired from doing it.
Well let me attempt an answer. The tendency for one to get tired is so high, niceness, kindness, compassion etc which are pointers to doing good have become scarce in today's world because of the many circumstances that can truly discourage one from doing something good. Here are a few for consideration
- Response from people you reach out to: So one would expect at least a thank you for an act of kindness or the other no matter how little. Sadly less and less people have learnt to be grateful. Entitlement has creeped in quietly that those in need think it's the sole responsibility of those that have to give to them. As true as it is that we should not be weary of doing well (paraphrased from the bible), its important people learn to say thank you as an encouragement to the giver.
*Personal Challenges: Sometimes my own needs and challenges at the time may shut me from seeing the needs of others even when I have what they need. I guess it happens with everyone, yeah. While the heart may be in the right place to do something good, one may just be stressed to even do anything.
- The Never Ending Cycle of Need: Oh wow! This is it for me. You take care of one and there pops another, you aren't done with that and then another shows up. I know you get what i'm saying right. The needs keep popping up and growing, it can be tiring knowing what to do or which deserves more attention. The financial resources seem to be too little to meet the many needs that show up daily. One day soon I do hope to write on how I have used crytocurrency to make a massive impact in the lives of the less priviledged.
