I agree with you here whole-heartedly. I have been guilty of complaining, but not after trying to build a project of my own here. The problem is that people in today's time just don't want to take ownership or responsibility for anything! They are weak sheep that would rather watch someone else build it and then try to ride coat tails.
One problem that people have with the ownership aspect is they think that all they are supposed to do is stake a token and the project leaders do everything else. That's not how it works, at least in my mindset. If you stake a token for a community, you are an OWNER of that community! So you should want it to succeed right? How many token stakers go out and try to do some good ole word of mouth marketing for those projects? Next to NONE! Maybe some people will shill for LEO, but I don't even see that many anymore. The most shilling I see on other platforms is Splinterlands, and even that momentum is dying out. No marketing help from stakeholders or members of the community is why BlockTunes failed and why Hivelist is going to fail, which breaks my heart. People only care about what you are going to do for their bags, not what they can do to help build value in their own bags.
When I was with Weedcash, I busted my ass and spent money on marketing materials to try and go out and spread the word to different weed shops in Oregon and Washington, and didn't get much response because people just don't get it yet, or they just don't want to deal with the hassle of crypto and being responsible for their own data and finances. I didn't do that because I owned the keys to the community, because I didn't, I was just a member and owner of the token that wanted to help build it up!
So when I see people complaining about this or that, I ask, what the hell are you doing to help?
