My Week in Review for October 19, 2024

I hope you're all having a great weekend! The weather here has been great, a little cool in the mornings and a nice sunny, warm afternoons. One of the perks of living in California, if can stand the crowded freeways, occasional earthquakes and a little smog! lol

Time yet again for another Saturday Savers. I'm getting a bit of a late start on this one because I decided to finish cleaning up the place first, but it had to be done! The reason I started to share with Saturday Savers was to help me focus on what goals I really wanted to achieve here in the Hive ecosystem. Prior to beginning to share these posts I had some vague things I wanted to accomplish, so this really has helped out.

I have already surpassed two of my goals that I had set for the year, I'm particularly proud of finally crossing the 5K HP finish line. I guess that makes me officially a dolphin, although my badge has yet to change...

Let's jump into the numbers for this last week...

Hive Power

I had a pretty good week in this category. I started the week with 5,046 HP. As you can see below I now have 5,140 HP. So up 94 on the week! At the rate I am progressing I just may hit 6K HP by year's end!

I'm not setting an official higher goal, but we will see what happens...

PIMP

This is my secondary goal I set for the year. Prices increased quite a bit and I slowed my purchasing. I still have the goal of reaching 50K PIMP but I'll have to find some really good deals. Right now I only have 30,600, so there is a bit of climb left in this category!

Leo

I added this goal late in the year, to reach 1,500 staked LEO by year's end. I have 1,477 at the moment, so this one looks like its's going to be in the bag for sure. Maybe 2K isn't out of the question, we shall see!

HSBI

This year I wanted to have at least 2,000 HSBI units by year's end. I now have 2,975 so almost 150% of the original goal. I'll definitely end the year with more than 3,000 HSBI, and I'm happy about that. You can never have too many of these!

I'm up 65 units on the week, so a good one in this area as well. Dedication has paid off for me on this goal.

Last year when I started to look at HSBI more seriously I had a grand total of eleven units. I decided to invest more in the program by adding a daily re-blog lottery to my posts. It really made my numbers grow. Eventually, I became tired of the daily extra work and so I switched the giveaway to a weekly event. I also started to sponsor other weekly events and continue to do so every week. SIM

I have not started my mass buying up to two million like I keep intending to do. Other things just come up that become priorities. I still hold just over one million of these tokens. The nice thing about them is they pay you a daily Hive dividend, and I love getting some free Hive every day. I hold four tokens that do that: SIM, DUO, PIMP, and CAV. If you like daily free Hive they all pay if you hold enough and stake them (depending on the token!)

DUO

This is a really cool token, I may be a little biased though because I help create it! DUO is a token that I created with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman several months back now. Our goal was to create a token that could build up enough Hive Power to assist in onboarding and retaining new Hive members. Our hope is that the curations we can offer will help encourage them so that they can grow into successful Hive bloggers. We are still very early in the project but have already managed to accumulate almost 22,000 HP thanks to our investors.

DUO token holders receive some great benefits. Once you have 200 staked tokens you can receive a daily curation on your quality posts and receive daily Hive dividends. I mentioned the dividend earlier, they are pretty nice to get daily! Once you stake more than 500 DUO you also can use the DUO tip call to tip someone with some DUO, and in return you get the same amount of DUO in your account. It pays to tip others with DUO!

I currently have over 1,056 of these and will be continuing to purchase them. Once this tranche of tokens sells out the price will jump from one Hive to 1.5 Hive each. My advice is to buy in early while they are less expensive! Plus you will make money as soon as this batch sells out due to the price increase!

Other Tokens

No big changes here, I am continuing to collect DBOND and DAB. I have both my DBONDs and DABs staked, so the staked DBOND produces more DAB, and the staked DAB produces more DBOND. So they are slowly growing. EDS I'm just continuing to hold just about 100 and don't foresee any big changes any time soon.

Silver

Silver is starting to see some serious price increases over the last several days. To think only a few months ago it was around $22 an ounce. Now it's surging toward $34 an ounce. Precious metals are important to own because they will always have value. With the wars and instability in the world right now people will continue to amass these. Like HSBI, you can never have too much silver!

Every week I like to share fun ways you can invest in silver. It doesn't always have to be coins or bars, but some coins don't look much like coins anymore. Here's a perfect example, in 2022 Niue produced a Pac-Man line of coins including the ghosts. These are intended to be able to stack on top of another, you can build a literal stack of silver ghosts! These are on sale at Apmex.com for $39.95, so a little over five dollars per coin over the price of silver. Not too bad a price for some cool silver!

DUO token
