My Hive Goal for 2025, My Year End Review

It's the last Saturday in the year 2025. I find it hard to believe that another year has come and gone, but they seem to accelerate every day rather than slowing down. It seems to have a lot to do with aging, the older we get the faster the days seem to slip away. I still remember as a child time seemed to drag on forever, boy times have changed!

My post on Saturdays this past couple of years have been financially focused as I had joined the Saturday Savers community. Sadly, I have to report it is no more. One more initiative here on the Hive ecosystem that has given up the ghost. It's been happening more and more frequently this past year which is truly sad to behold. However, I will continue with a financial post once a week and for the time being it will still be Saturday. That may be subject to change in the new year.

This year I had set a goal to achieve 10,000 staked Hive Power which I achieved sometime back. I did briefly flirt with the idea of upping it the 13,000 staked HP, but life got in the way. Some unexpected medical expenses forced me to cut small amounts off the top of all my crypto to make ends meet. My Hive did take a small hit. I'll have to evaluate my goals for this next year!

I also had a secondary goal to reach 50,000 staked PIMP tokens which I'm happy to report was achieved as well. I'm currently at 63,000 and on my way towards 100,000. That may be a goal for this next year! PIMP is the only token here on Hive that is backed by physical silver and BTC, so it's a very safe investment!

Today I'll go over a few of my favorited current investments. Most are precious metal related but there are a few here on Hive second layer which I still like quite a bit. Although admittedly, that number has decreased dramatically this year.

Precious Metals

Silver

Silver has been on absolute fire this past week and is currently at almost $80 per Troy ounce. A year ago it was less than $30, what a difference a year makes. It was a very Merry Christmas for all of us who invest in silver! With continued shortages in supply and refining capabilities the price is going to be firmly attached to a rocket going nowhere but up in the near future!

Gold

Gold has also hit new all time highs at $4,550 this past day. Gold has traditionally been a safe haven for investors, corporations, and governments in times of uncertainty. The current state of the world is one filled with doubt, crippling national debts, inflation, war, and economic instability has led to the metal selling faster than it can be produced. Most indicators show gold well below the expected benchmark prices, so we are likely to see more more new all time highs in the coming days and months.

If you don't already invest in precious metals it's never too late to start. Start small with small amounts of silver or a half gram of gold. The key is to keep buying regularly and before you know it you will have a nice stack that is worth quite a bit of money. It adds to your personal wealth and best of all can be passed onto your children. Also, it a great idea to get them into investing in silver from a young age and saving as well. It's a habit that will benefit them in the future!

I will be buying more of both this next year, it's a great place to invest!

TGLD

I still am really happy with my investment in TGLD which is pegged to the SPDR GLD fund at a 1:100 ratio. I locked in a bonus 9% APR by buying and staking in the first day of the presale. Currently the base APR is 20% for all TGLD purchases that are staked and is paid out in HBD daily. So my current APR is effectively 29%, not too bad, far better than the 15% on HBD. With gold prices on fire the APR is likely to increase. The only downfall is buying tokens is a little difficult as not many people are selling at reasonable prices. But a smart and patient investor could still pick some up relatively inexpensive.

Other Hive Engine Tokens

As I mentioned earlier I have backed off on most second layer token projects as the failure rate has been high this past year. Here are some I continue to hold and even make purchases from time to time:

I am continuing to delegate to EDSI to earn EDSI tokens every week. I also continue to hold onto my DBOND and DAB tokens, staked DAB produces more DBOND and staked DBOND more DAB. I'm continue to hold onto my PAKX which I feel is a very solid project as well, and provides me with two tip call a day which I enjoy. I do delegate to Leo to earn some LEO tokens, I'm stacking them up for now as they do have a deflationary model now. Hopefully it pays off down the line.

And of course, I continue to pick up some more DUO tokens on a regular basis, and it's my favorite token of them all! It pays daily dividends, allows tipping, and curations on quality posts. Of course I may be a bit biased as I help create it...
