I didn't know that Kings of Leon had to extend their sales window but that says a lot about how we need things to be a bit easier to the average person. That could really help mass adoption.

Well the concept is the same for all content creators. The difference is Kings has a much bigger following than the rest of us. So does Paris Hilton. They are obviously going to cash in big time. However, that does not mean that we cannot learn from what they are doing.
Of course, we do need infrastructure in place.
