This is why I prefer REITs and ETFs instead of actually owning the real estate...
Having real estate is a full time job, it can be high maintenance and it is a Russian roulette in terms of risk, you never know who you are putting in your investment and if they are going to be careful with it.

My country is basically like California.
i have heard of high taxes in the US, it can be frustrating when speaking from this angle.
Plus actual property is not liquid. It can be tough at times to sell especially if under the gun.
It's a shame really. Property ownership in my country has some of the best tax breaks, but I am just not built that way.
Can't even take care of my own house, much less someone else's. 😀
