I see a lot of crypto investors that like to hate on the stock market... what they fail to realize is that there are still opportunities in the stock market!
I've seen tech ETFs going up on average 40% annualy for years and years now, and at least in tech ETFs you are the true owner of the company that you are buying shares.
If you are a shareholder the money that the company owns is part yours, the revenue that they generate is part yours, the IP that they own is part yours, the right to choose the board of directors and thus the CEO is part yours, and you have legal recourse to enforce all of these.
Meanwhile crypto fails to have any of these, at least for the moment...
I hope that slowly crypto investors have legal rights over the protocols that they buy token, but instead of having a court enforce stuff, the smart contract will be the enforcer.
Crypto needs to stop being afraid to be called a security and embrace it instead.
As a crypto enthusiast I also hate stock market xD.
I like the stock market, there are plenty of opportunities, and ETFs make it rewarding long term for anyone that wants to invest for their retirement.
And owning the stock allows people to participate and vote in the shareholder's meetings.
And once you start researching each company and try to extrapolate revenue into the future, earnings, products that are in the pipeline, the tech behind their products, it becomes a lot of fun for someone that is curious.
I especially like to research low valued companies that have the potential to be disruptive.
Been looking into Enovix, they seem to be primed to be disruptive in the batteries sectors, with the potential to compete with BYD and with a great management team.
It's fun, at least to me 🤷
Yeah. Crypto has been much easier for people to get "invested" in. Think we'll see better things over time. So much funds may be allocated more directly to investors / token holders through some form of (smart) contracts.
The thing is, they could make stock investing much easier than it currently is, but the government doesn't allow it.
They would just need to shift the tax burden to stock exchanges instead of to people. Just this change would make it more likely for people to start investing.
Yes. Taxes should be indirect and not direct. Tax like property tax, but not income and investing tax. But government has been bankrupt and trying to make money back. Instead of letting hte money go around and create more prosperity. Hopefully crypto will do this.
