Chicken Marsala by Groq:

Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian-American dish that's easy to make and packed with flavor! Here's a simple recipe that yields tender, juicy chicken breasts smothered in a rich and creamy Marsala wine sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Marsala wine (dry or sweet, whichever you prefer)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Sort:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the Marsala wine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet with a wooden spoon.
  6. Add the heavy cream and chicken broth to the skillet, whisking constantly to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  1. Stir in the dried thyme and season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Add the chicken breasts back to the skillet and spoon some of the Marsala sauce over the top of each breast.
  3. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
  4. Remove the skillet from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve the chicken breasts hot, spooning some of the Marsala sauce over the top of each breast. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.

Tips and Variations:

  • Use high-quality Marsala wine for the best flavor. You can also substitute it with a dry white wine or a mixture of wine and chicken broth.
  • Add some sautéed mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers to the skillet with the garlic for added flavor and texture.
  • Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a mixture of cream and chicken broth for a lighter sauce.
  • Serve the chicken Marsala with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a side of pasta for a hearty meal.
  • Make the sauce ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours or freeze it for up to 2 months. Reheat the sauce before serving.

Enjoy your delicious homemade chicken Marsala!
