Apple, which has a partnership with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into its iPhone operating system, recently dropped out of talks to invest in the company.
As OpenAI seeks investors for its massive funding round, the company is also considering restructuring its non-profit status to attract investors. This move would allow the company to take on more debt and potentially increase its valuation.
However, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman has reportedly told employees that he does not plan to receive a significant equity stake in the company. During a meeting with Altman and OpenAI's CFO Sarah Friar, the leaders told employees that investors are concerned about Altman's lack of equity in the company.
