@jimmy.adames

5 in a row. The #mets are making the decision whether to buy or sell tough. They are still 6.5 games out in the WC. Could sneak back into it but is it a wise move?

Sort:

@taskmaster4450le - the smart play not so much to be buyers but to make trades that will benefit both now and down the line. Like the Escobar trade. Don't wave the white flag, but be realistic and see what happens. 6.5 GM but seems like 12.

Well I dont think they will be trading much of value. For example, they will have names like Carrasco, Pham, and Canha, guys who expire at season's end.

Exactly, so get what they can in terms of prospects go for it. Perhaps they can come away with a diamond in the rough. For example. A guy like Jo Adell who hasn't reached his potential in Anaheim. Just an example.

Even if you pull in another Drew Smith...a guy who is serviceable out of the BP.

The #mets dont even have that right now.

There are bullpen arms out there, but if they have to give up prospects for them scares me a bit. If they were a game or two back in the division or the wildcard, I would say heck go all in. Not this year @taskmaster445le #babymetsstay

I meant dumping a guy like Canha or Pham for a prospect like Smith was when the Duda trade was done.

Pham may be able to get a decent prospect back for the Mets @taskmaster4450le - I read a team like the Dodgers could use him. Any prospect coming for them would immediately rank in the top of the Mets' farm system lol. Joking. but yes Pham.

Go Mets. You loyal mf'ers deserve it..

I have a feeling more "wait until next year". Go 2024.
