Smaller injuries have ended careers so you never know. Even with a high success rate in terms of return, some simply do not recover.

Look at Noah Syndergaard with the Mets. He was never the same after TJS, a surgery with a high success rate.

My point exactly. Also we have to consider that the athlete actually have a incentive to do proper rehab. The older a athlete is the gigher reason they might just feel this is the time to hang up their boots.

Money no longer is the motivator.

Where does he stand in terms of grand slam championships. Records can often be what keeps people at that level going.

Not so much into tennis so I can tell. I guess the entire tennis sport is hoping he is coming back though because he is one of the big names!

he is top for grand slams (+2 and Nadal is second but he will probably retire). There is a chance he will not risk playing Wimbledon because of Olympics. That is the only thing he did not won.
